Allow already short links to Twitter without conversion via tinyurl etc.
We have our own short url domain which gives links as short as Tinyurl etc.
At present Twitterfeed will convert an already short link even though the original is a similar length.
We suggest either allowing a 'no conversion' option with the user taking the responsibility or Twitterfeed only sending for conversion links over NN characters.
One of these options would work better than the idea of not converting links when the msg is less than (I think) 140 chars. Often the feed entry goes over that length. I like the sentiment in that idea, just offer an alternative that might be easier for people to understand and Twitterfeed to program efficiently.
Hope this helps!

Inappropriate?twitterfeed currently shortens URLs if the whole URL (including the http:// etc.) is more than 25 characters long. If it's longer than that, there's a big chance that your URL will be shortened by twitter automatically (although I don't know they exact rule for shortening) if it isn't shortened by twitterfeed, which is why we at least provide the choice of the shortener you want to use.
In other words, if twitterfeed doesn't shorten the link, it's very likely twitter itself will, so it would be a little confusing to offer a "do not shorten" option, as twitterfeed can't guarantee that links aren't shortened by twitter. -
Inappropriate?Ok, but I don't send tweets to twitter ! So my urls won't get shortened... And I would prefer to keep them long for archiving purposes. Thus, I could make great use of a "don't shorten" option.
-
Inappropriate?I also like the idea of having the option to not shorten links. I use twitterfeed combined with ping.fm to add post excerpts from my wordpress blog to several other blogs, so I don't have the url-length issues that twitter users have. I'd like people to know where they are going with my url in the link.
-
Inappropriate?Yes I agree, there are some use cases where not shortening the links would make sense.
I'll bear this is mind then next making changes - for example, it may be an option to not shorten links when posting to the "blog" method of Ping.fm, since these services typically don't suffer from the character restrictions like status or micro-blogging updates. -
Inappropriate?I agree, I am doing my own on-domain 301 redirects. Twitter states 30 characters, and Ive had up to 40 go through. My current redirects are 28, so Twitter would accept, but Twitterfeed seems to still shorten. Would be nice if that didnt happen. So, no-shorten option for Twitterfeed to Twitter as well, if possible. Let Twitter sort it out if no is chosen.

Inappropriate? My own domain-specific "short" urls are 29 chars long, so I'd be very glad too, if you raise your limit to the 30 chars twitter states (but I couldn't find a page, where twitter that actually says, I just believed alex :))
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Yes, please! Add an option NOT to shorten URL's would be great.
-
Inappropriate?I used to have links which are shorter than 25 chars, 19 chars actually. However, starting 11/28 your system started to short them too, making them 20-21 chars long. How I can disable it.
I’m frustrated

This may be related to the UTM tags we started supporting a little while ago - if you don't want them, you could look at the advanced settings and clear all UTM tag info. If that doesn't work, can you let me know the twitter account you're posting to and I'll try and take a closer look.
