Inappropriate?If you use your own bit.ly API information and it happens every time, then check the API info you entered to make sure it's correct (bit.ly can be fussy about upper/lower case, and make sure you enter the API key not the bit.ly password).
If you're not entering any bit.ly API info, then the problem is most likely temorary - whenever there's a an issue or slow response from the bit.ly API, twitterfeed uses a different shortener in order to be able to post a short link at all.
