Stories get posted twice
Lately, stories from my RSS feed get posted to Twitter twice. Anyone else experiencing this? It is usually with a difference of one hour between postings - same exact story gets posted.

Inappropriate?Has this been fixed yet? I deleted my accounts - and will re-make them soon. I hope I don't end up with THREE posts for every one blog post now.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate? This isn't a generic problem, so if you experience this, please let me know your twitter account name and feed URL, so I can take a closer look. It's usually down to individual issues around the feeds themselves, or similar.
If you want to test before going live on your own twitter account, you can always create a secondary/test twitter account and post to that for testing purposes. -
Inappropriate?I'm having this problem as well. Twitter name is hartez and the feed is
http://hartez.jaiku.com/feed/rss -
Inappropriate?My twitter name is digidave
Weirder than that - I can't even get to my twitter feed account right now cause Technorati is bugging out. That is the Open ID service I normally use to log-in.
Am I screwed now?
-
Inappropriate?digidave - someone else reported a problem with Technorati OpenID yesterday, but it seems to be working as far as I can see. Perhaps they had some temporary issues..
Re. the duplicate post, yes I can see it there.. something odd going on there with the dates I suspect, although I can't see it in the feed itself. I'll keep looking though, there are a few similar issues, especially around feeds from Y! Pipes. -
Inappropriate?I'm having this problem too - wanted to post all post from plurk.com to be posted into twitter and everything get's posted as double-sentence. .meanwhile i tried deleting some of those.
(ps i'm 'nevioth' on twitter)
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?nevioth - can you take a look at the plurk rss feed? I suspect that it contains a title and a description which repeat each other. In this case, simply select "title only" or "description only" in the twitterfeed settings to only post one of the two (if they're indentical, doesn't matter if you post title or description only, just not both - which is the default setting).
-
Inappropriate?Thank You! Indeed there were both title and description...i've updated it now to only show the title, will wait for twitter to fetch that rss and see that it works. i'll let you know if otherwise.
thanks, again -
Inappropriate?I'm going to try title only as suggested above.

I've been manually deleting duplicates but there are a few recent ones posted. -
Inappropriate?My Twitter is
http://www.twitter.com/lostintech
Feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/lostintec...
I have been getting duplicates, so I deleted my main twitterfeed. I would like the other account disabled as well, so I can remake in order to have control over the posting options. -
It looks like that feed is set up with a Yahoo! OpenID where the last part of the URL wasn't sent to me by Yahoo - there's a thread here about this issue. In order to fix it, could you let me know what it says *exactly* after the "logged in as" text when you log into twitterfeed using your Yahoo! OpenID. If you send me this info, I can then update the database, and you should see your feed. -
-
Hi - this should be fixed now, when you log back into twitterfeed you should see your feeds. -
Inappropriate?Just since yesterday I am having the problem where I get two posts of the exact same feed update at exactly the same time on Twitter, http://twitter.com/melaniejor. I have multiple feeds but this is the latest one to have issues--just happened about 20 mins. ago http://feeds.feedburner.com/WhatYouKn...
Thanks as it is embarrassing--mkaes me look like I don't know what I'm doing or spamming.
I’m concerned
-
Inappropriate?Did you delete these duplicates, as I can't see them in your feed? I checked in the db, and there are 4 feeds posting to your account, but they all appear to be different (well, at least their URLs are different). Perhaps if this happens again, could you leave them up so I can check and take a look?
-
Inappropriate?I believe my issue is slightly different as I am posting the results of a keyword search feed into a Twitter account 'perfectpints' (aggregating all tweets containing 'Guinness'), and the search is finding the tweets from 'perfectpints' the next time around and creating duplicate entries.
Any workaround for this other than excluding 'perfectpints' from the search terms? Or is that the solution?
I’m unsure
-
Yes, I think the easiest thing would be to amend your search query in twitter search, to exclude the perfectpints tweets. -
I thought so. Everything appears to be working fine after amending the search. Thanks for the reply. -
Inappropriate?Hi, my problem is the same, and it is quite recent: Twitterfeed sends the tweet of a new blog entry twice... I don't know why it happens; I have not submitted my feed twice, and there are no updates or rewrites of the entries, and I set my twitterfeed account to post only titles of entries - yet, they are sent twice to Twitter. can you help me on this?
my twitter account is http://www.twitter.com/dragonweb
my feed: http://feedproxy.google.com/dragonweb
Thank you!
I’m frustrated
-
Is this still an issue? I can see a feedproxy.google and a feedburner feed, but one of them is set to inactive, so there should be no duplicate posts. If it continues to be a problem, let me know and I'll take a closer look. -
Inappropriate?Same thing - Twitter name michellem & feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/MichelleM...
-
Do you have an example to show the issue? I can only see one feed setup posting to your account in our database, and can't see duplicates in your twitter timeline. -
-
Very odd, I can only see one copy of this feed, and can't see why it would have reposted it, as even the link is the same, which is always checked for duplication. Wondering if this is was a one-off - could you let me know if it happens again? The only possible thing is that the feed is in the system under a different URL, and under a different username (e.g. the email address instead of twitter username). -
Inappropriate?I have the same problem :
http://twitter.com/Fantasy_fr
During a time, the feed doesn't seem to work and I wasn't able to change anything on my account. I recreate a new feed but now, the firts one works and i can't delete it.
I’m confused
-
Your older account is under a myvidoop.com OpenID (if you need more detail see http://bit.ly/openidreminder).
You should be able to login to that account via "Sign In with OpenID", then click the "OpenID" button/image and enter "[username].myvidoop.com". -
You seem to have 2 feeds set up, under 2 different OpenIDs (one a Yahoo! OpenID, the other a Google OpenID). -
Inappropriate?Hi!
Same problem: Double postings with twitterfeed. I changed the URL-Shortener from bit.ly to tinyurl - it didn't work. Then I deleted the Feed and created a new one with tinyurl - it didn't work. Twitter-Name: 11Freunde_Red. Can you help me?
Feed-URL: http://www.11freunde.de/rss/11freunde...
I’m confused
-
You have 2 feeds set up in the system, one under a Yahoo! OpenID, and one under a "@11freunde.de" email address. -
Inappropriate?Hi Mario,
I'm having a similar problem - for some reason, some of the items in the "TODAY" feed on twitter.com/brightongigs seems to be getting posted twice. It's not quite every item, but most of them. They're getting different bit.ly URLs which both point to the same "real" URL (the last.fm event page).
I've tried adding a duplicate filter to the Yahoo Pipe that feeds it (so the feed definitely only contains one copy of each item). I've also tried running the feed through Feedburner before passing it on to Twitterfeed. Neither seems to have helped.
The feed is set to "Post new items based on GUID" and the GUID of each item is its last.fm URL, so these should definitely be unique. I'm a bit stumped!
Thanks in advance for any help.

Inappropriate?Hi Mario,
I'm also experiencing double posting to my Twitter profile - I initially thought I'd set up the account incorrectly but i've checked through a lot of the responses on here and we seem to be having the same problem - can you look into this for me please? @Camfil_Farr and the feed is: http://www.lowenergyairfilter.co.uk/f...
I would very much appreciate your help!
Thanks,
Katie
I’m baffled!
-
That's very odd - did you delete anything between writing this post and now? I just checked the database, and there's definitely only one feed in there - if this happens again, could you let me know? Usually the problem is caused by people setting up the feed twice, under different user accounts, without noticing - but in this case from what I can tell it's only in the database once. -
Inappropriate?I'm also getting double posts. But I'm not using OpenID or any of that. The feed was working fine for a while, and recently I've been noticing items showing up twice...sometimes with the same time stamp, other times within an hour of each other. It's not happening with all items, but many of them.
My Twitter page is https://twitter.com/BuckeyeFirearms.
I've been manually deleting duplicates. But this is a pain. Please help. -
I can only seem to see one feed posting to the BuckeyeFireams twitter account - is that still an issue? That same feed does exist twice in the database, but the second one is posting to the @gunsareme account rather than to @BuckeyeFirearms. -
Inappropriate?Help, me too! My twitter is http://twitter.com/fussyeater
I'm using OpenID.
I’m frustrated
-
This feed seems to exist under 2 different OpenID accounts, one is the Blogger account http://fussyeater.blogspot.com/, the other the OpenID URL http://www.fussy-eater.com/.
