Inappropriate? Please provide me with information like the feed URL if you want me to take a closer look. Without it, there's nothing I can do.

Thanx 4 yr response Mario: my original feed is http://www.astramatch.com/blog/?feed=... and feed address http://feeds.feedburner.com/AstraMatch
Any help you can give me would be much appreciated, can't wait to be able to use twitterfeed! Thanks 4 yr help in advance, Pemo -
hi Mario. I'm trying to set my blog with twitterfeed and it keeps saying it can't parse it. The site is http://thomstvstuff.blogspot.com Can you help me. My twitter feed does everything okay with the username and password on twitter. Thank you. -
tr05prius: you need to enter the feed URL, not the blog URL. In your case I think this should be http://feeds.feedburner.com/ThomsTvStuff -
I am having the same issue - http://brauerindiefilms.blogspot.com -
I have tried to get this to parse as follows:
http://theartappraisalblog.blogspot.com as well as http://feeds.feedburner.com/theartapp... and either way it doesn't parse. Could you please help? Thanks -
The feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/theartapp... doesn't seem to exist - however, in your case http://theartappraisalblog.blogspot.c... should work. -
Thanks for your reply. I tried your suggestion and it didn't work. Any other thoughts? -
What exactly doesn't work? When I try to set up a feed with this feed URL, it seem to work fine. -
Inappropriate?Hi - I just tried this, and the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/AstraMatch seems to parse ok. Perhaps it was a temporary problem? If you do continue to have problems please let me know.

Inappropriate?added another feed yesterday and i have same problem again that it cannot parse my feed i can click on the feed and see the rss but i still get the error.. is there anyway to avoid this problem the feed is
http://feeds.feedburner.com/Successwi...
I’m frustrated
-
I just tried this feed, when clicking the "test rss feed" in twitterfeed it seems to parse OK. -
Inappropriate? This is happening with me... http://icanseerightthroughyou.blogspo... whats up?
I’m trying to get it
-
You need to provide the feed URL, rather than the URL of the blog itself - in your case, I think it should be http://icanseerightthroughyou.blogspo... -
Inappropriate?Tried subbing up to feedburner using
http://feeds.feedburner.com/ ImmediacyAndEnthusiasm
still won't parse
I’m frustrated
-
The feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/Immediacy... seems to parse ok for me. If this continues to be a problem please let me know. -
Inappropriate?I don't really know how to get my rss feed....but for my etsy shop I tried this: http://www.etsy.com/rss_shop.php?user... which didn't "parse". the url is http://stirdesigns.etsy.com.
i also wanted to add my blogger page, http://stirdesigns.blogspot.com/--tried going to the change rss feed page, but there wasn't anything in any of the boxes.
I'm obviously not a computer savvy person! help! I've been looking at help sites for hours and still don't get it!
I’m frustrated
-
Stir...I hear you...it took me forever to figure this out also and getting help is like pulling teeth. The only thing I can tell you is if you have anything in the site feed you have to use that. For Example http://feeds.feedburner.com/stirdesigns. If nothing is in there then just try http://stirdesigns.blogspot.com Other than that I don't know much more how to help you. Maybe Mario will get back with you. He did with me after I had figured it out on my own but he did reply...Hope this helps -
The etsy feed for http://stirdesigns.etsy.com should be http://www.etsy.com/rss_shop.php?user... and far as I can see parses ok.
The feed for http://stirdesigns.blogspot.com should be http://stirdesigns.blogspot.com/feeds...
I'm not sure which web browser you're using - Firefox for example shows an RSS icon in the address bar, which shows you the RSS feed for a site. -
Inappropriate?Oh, thank you so much!! It does work now...I don't know why the etsy feed didn't work before. Sorry you have to tell us non-computer people over and over again how to make this work!!!
And thanks tr05prius for making me feel better ;)
Blessings!
I’m thankful
-
You are welcome and see Mario is good with this...I only wish I knew how he figures this out LOL but at least he does and that's why they have help forums...Well wishes in your blog -
You need to provide the feed/RSS URL, not a normal web link. In your case, it probably should be http://news.search.yahoo.com/news/rss... -
Inappropriate?sorry, i did enter before already http://news.search.yahoo.com/news/rss...
can you see what's wrong with this? -
http://news.search.yahoo.com/news/rss... seems to return a valid feed, while the URL you mention seems to redirect to a web page instead. Can you try this exactly, and see if it works? -
Inappropriate?Hi
I can't get this feed to parse - is there anything I am doing wrong?

It looks like the problem is caused by the server responding very slowly, so the requests from twitterfeed are timing out before the feed can the retreived.
I also tried on an unrelated site (http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?ur...) and am also seeing "server returned timed out" errors, so it's not just an issue with twitterfeed. -
Having the same problem here - my feed won't parse: feed://toomuchinspiration.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default -
This seems to parse ok for me (although you'll need to change feed: to http:, but the "test rss feed" link should automatically /do that - if not, try entering "http://toomuchinspiration.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default"). -
Inappropriate? Thanks! It's working now. Although why the feed shows as it does and I have to change it to http I'll probably never understand...
Thanks again :) -
Inappropriate?Having the same problem here - my feed won't parse:
the-fascination.blogspot.com
I’m frustrated
-
Similar to above, you need to enter the feed URL, not the blog itself. In your case it should be http://the-fascination.blogspot.com/f... -
Inappropriate?I have the same problem. The feeds validate just fine. It seems that twitterfeed does not like the wordpress feeds that end with /?feed=rss2
Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't. The only way to get it work is to enter the feed into feedburner which parses it just fine, then used the feedburner feed in twitter feed.
Mildy annoying to say the least.
I’m frustrated as well
-
Inappropriate?I tried in insert feedburner into the parse , I tried Rss at the end .. I tried several things and it still did not parse..
-
Inappropriate?I'm having the same problem -> http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run... .
This "Should" work, as i've had feeds from yahoo pipes working before.
Also would like to note, i have a existing feed(That works fine), feeding from yahoo pipes.
It works fine, posts to twitter, etc etc.
Though when i click "Test" it says "We couldn't parse this feed, please check URL and/or feed content are valid " yet it works fine.
I’m =( >_> =(
-
Strange, I just tried this feed, and it seems to parse ok in the "new feed" page. -
Just attempted this, didn't work =( -
Inappropriate?Hi Mario,
same to me, my YahooPipes-Feed is not parsed (anymore) how it used to. Opening it in a browser works, even the recommended validator doesn't give major problems... The URL is http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run...
Any idea?
Yours Guido -
This seems to work for me - just gives the message "Feed parsed OK, but due to missing pubDates make sure you select 'Post new items based on GUID' in Advanced Settings below." when it's being parsed, so make sure you use that option rather than the pubDate default. -
Hi Mario,
I'm having the same problems with yahoo pipes. Here is the URL http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run...
I even tried selecting "GUID" but it doesn't work. Keeps saying that "We couldn't parse this feed, please check URL and/or feed content are valid ". I checked it in yahoo pipes and everything looks good. Any ideas? -
The message I get is that this feed contains neither pubDates nor GUIDs - twitterfeed needs at least one of the two in order to know which items are new and should be posted (see also http://twitterfeed.com/help#faq3). -
Inappropriate?Hi Mario. I've tried a lot of things. It doesn't work. Help. The message is 'could not parse this feed'.
The sitename is www.alpjeop2010.blogspot.com. I've tried for the feed http://alpjeop2010.blogspot.com and 100 others.
Thankx. Niek
I’m frustrated
-
I think there's a problem with your feed settings - the feed URL should be http://alpjeop2010.blogspot.com/feeds..., but for some reason this redirects to http://www.alpjeop2010.blogspot.com/, which it shouldn't.
Can you look at your blog's feed/feed URL settings, I think it needs to be fixed there. -
Sorry, just found it - http://feeds.feedburner.com/Alpjeop2010 should work. -
Inappropriate?Dear Mario,
Twitterfeed does not parse my blog for some reason.
This is the URL: http://stephenandrewlo.blogspot.com/ -
You need to use the feed URL rather than the URL of the blog - in your case, http://stephenandrewlo.blogspot.com/f... should work. -
Inappropriate?Mario,
I'm having the same error message (i.e., "
We couldn't parse this feed, please check URL and/or feed content are valid.").
The URL i'm using is http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run...
The twitter account connected to my twitterfeed account is @echochambers.
Please help.
I’m puzzled
-
I just tried it, and it seemed to work ok, so perhaps it was a temporary issue (it can happen if for example Yahoo Pipes is responding too slowly). If the problem persists, let me know. -
Mario, I did the same thing again, but it's still giving the error message, "We couldn't parse this feed, please check URL and/or feed content are valid". Thank you very much. -
Inappropriate?Yahoo Pipes can respond very slowly, but since I have it behind Feedburner and send the Feedburner feed to Twitterfeed, I am puzzled why it it generally fails. It hardly works at all anymore.
-
What is the feedburner URL you are having problems with? -
Inappropriate?Hi Mario
I'm having the same problem on my account @ConexMaritima
Feed's that I use are:
feed://www.conexaomaritima.com.br/novo/internet/bin/noticia/feed.php?tag=economia
feed://www.conexaomaritima.com.br/novo/internet/bin/noticia/feed.php?tag=maritimo
feed://www.conexaomaritima.com.br/novo/internet/bin/noticia/feed.php?tag=politica
This 3 Always can't parse the feed first time I try, then on the second time it parses ok but it's not feeding my account. Keeps the message Couldn't parse the feeds.
Thanks for your time. -
Very strange, I just noticed this myself - the first time I didn't parse, and on the second try it it.
I've seen something similar before, in that case the feed was generated dynamically the first time it was called, and then cached for a given time. The problem was that generating the feed took longer than our time-out fetch period (currently 8 seconds), so the initial request always failed. Not sure if this is the same issue, but may be worth looking at. -
Inappropriate?Mario, please see my reply to your reply to my comment at
http://getsatisfaction.com/twitterfee....
I wrote this:
Mario, I did the same thing again, but it's still giving the error message, "We couldn't parse this feed, please check URL and/or feed content are valid". Thank you very much.
-
I tried it again now and it seems to work (no error message) -
Thought things might be timing out, so tried another URL that runs more quickly - http://www.c-brats.com/rss.php?t=1
Now, it fails with "A feed needs to contain publish dates or GUIDs in order to work with twitterfeed", but the feed contains valid dates, and validates fine at feedvalidator.org -
It's valid, but doesn't contain pubDates or GUIDs - if you look at the source of the feed, each item just contains title, link and description elements.
twitterfeed needs to have at least one of the 2 - pubDates or GUIDs - in order to know if an item is new and should be posted to twitter. -
Inappropriate?I created a yahoo pipe as an rss feed. It works fine in readers but twitterfeed won't parse it:
http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run... -
This seems to parse ok for me - perhaps it was a temporary issues, I've heard many people report that Pipes can be slow to respond at times, which may cause a time-out that then leads to a message suggesting we can't parse it. -
Inappropriate?Hello Mario Menti, I have got the same problem...with the following feed address: feed://www.daniel-renz.de/feed
Can you help me, too?
I’m frustrated
-
http://www.daniel-renz.de/feed should work (previously we automatically changed "feed://" to "http://", but the latest update has broken this - we'll try and put that back). Basically, twitterfeed needs "http://" rather than "feed://". -
Thank you VERY MUCH!!! :-) -
Inappropriate?I am having this problem too! Can you please help me?
My blog URL is - Http://danidevourseverything.blogspot.com
I tried the RSS link but it wouldn't parse.
I’m cheesed.
-
http://danidevourseverything.blogspot... should work. -
No, it didn't work.
Know of any other sites that do this? It's annoying. -
What error are you getting? I can seem to click "test rss feed" with this feed and it seems to parse fine (see screenshot at http://skitch.com/mario/ndhyg/twitter...). Is this not what you're seeing? -
Inappropriate? Also used Yahoo Pipes to build an RSS feed:
http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run...
I tried switching to GUID, but it still won't recognize this valid feed. Suggestions? -
It looks like this is related to Yahoo! Pipes throttling requests again (we get the message "ERROR 999: Unable to process request at this time -- error 999" when trying to fetch this feed). We should be whitelisted there, so I will check with them and see what's happened. -
I tweaked the Pipe and it seems to be validating OK. But the Pipe itself doesn't do what I need it to do, namely: take 6 RSS feeds and RT them to a Twitter account. So if feed 1 says "Hello," the output should be "RT @johndoe Hello."
I'll keep working on it. Thanks for your help. -
Inappropriate?Hi.
Thanks for all your help I have done what you suggested and it works fine now.
Thanks again
Keith -
Inappropriate?cant get this running although everything seems fine in the pipes?
http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run... -
Inappropriate?Same question! My RSS URL is http://www.keen.com/CommunityServer/b... and my Twitter account is "earthshod." The error message is: [feed status: feed checked 2009-10-23 01:32:27 : we couldn't parse this feed, please check the URL is valid. we'll keep trying.]
I’m pissed this is marked Answered
-
Inappropriate? Also having problems with feeds made with yahoo pipes.
-
Inappropriate?Hi Mario, this time my feed was parsed but it doe not send any update to my account @bestofsmo
here the link
http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run... -
Inappropriate?Doesn't work for me :(
feed://apple.spot.ee/rss.php?mode=news
When i enter it with http:// then still nothing happens :(
@AppleSpot
I’m sad
-
Ok it works when i delete the "?mode=news" from the back, but i want to use it with the exact link i gave. So i've got to do another RSS feed for the news? -
Inappropriate?Hi Mario, I am trying this again my feed was working and now won't parse.
You checked on it for me once and I checked the feed and deleted the HelloHello attached but it still doesn't work, any other suggestions?
http://decdenbeki.blogspot.com/feeds/...
Any help will be appreciated, Thanks ~Beki -
Inappropriate?Hi Mario, can u pls check this feed. It says everything is alright but it doesnt send any feeds?!
http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run...
my twitter name is BestofSMO
Thx `Rob -
Inappropriate?I too am having trouble. I am using Contribute for my husband's business, www.hssbend.com and am not sure how to add the feed to a new page I am building. It is not a blog page, but a page of new products for his home theater company. The twitter is also hssbend.
-
twitterfeed works by processing data from an RSS or Atom feed - so the site would need to be able to provide data in this format before it can be used in twitterfeed. How exactly you get an RSS feed for the site I can't answer, this really depends on what techology or framework is used to create the site. -
Inappropriate?mario is right...for blogspot bloggers, you must append "/feeds/posts/default" to your blog URL.
For instance, my blog is http://mdmandbeyond.blogspot.com. Providing a RSS URL of http://mdmandbeyond.blogspot.com/feed... to Twitterfeed worked for me.
I figured this out by mousing over the "Subscribe to->Atom" widget. -
Inappropriate?Attempting to add "http://diplomaguide.com/rss/article_d..." leads to this same error.
The validator says it's valid (http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cg....
Help?
I’m confused
-
I'm not 100% sure, but it could be the blank lines in the feed that cause our parser a problem. Do you have control over the feed content? If yes, could you try removing any empty lines in the feed to see if that works? -
Which blank lines? I looked at some other feeds that use the same format (http://jasonsantamaria.com/articles/rss/) which worked, and I couldn't see much of a difference between the two.
I tried talking to our engineers, who are backlogged on another project and won't be available until after the new year. :( -
Can you please explain what you mean by blank lines? -
I meant the blank lines you can see in the source of the feed, e.g. at http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?ur...
... but I'm not sure if that's really the issue. You could also try running it through a service like feedburner, and then use the feedburner feed URL in twitterfeed, to check if that works.
