Twitterfeed double poss RSS entries on twitter?
Hi, my twitter feeds works alright, the problem is that it double posts the feed on twitter. It will post it twice within half an hour. I'm using twitterfeed to take my RSS feed from pownce and post that on twitter. So, how can I solve this issue or does the problem come from the Rss feed from pownce? I have seen the tutorial a lot on the net, and no one has the same issue as I do, so what can i do?

Inappropriate?I have similar problem using twitterfeed to take my RSS feed from a WordPress blog. It differs in that the second post comes 24 hours later (as configured in the account), however, it's the same post, not a new post as twitterfeed claims to perform. In addition, the account name is incremented by one with each post. At this time, the twitterfeed is inactive. Thoughts?

Inappropriate? Its pretty much the same problem i have, the second post that it post within half an hour is not the same on the first, twitterfeeds changes it bit, and truncates the text. I just made a new post on pownce, watch it live in action over the next half hour. @ http://twitter.com/sebdude
I’m not feeling any better yet

Inappropriate?I'm seeing the same thing. I have a feed that posts twitter items from one account on another. Is there something about the Twitter RSS feed that is causing this?
-
Inappropriate?Hi all, I think I can see 2 issues:
- some of the more recently added feeds were part of some processes that didn't finish within the 30 minutes, so there was the possibility that the same post was sent more than once by mistake. Apologies for this, I've now tried to work around this at least in the medium term (really need more resources in the longer term, but that's a different point..). If you continue to see this behaviour over the next few days please let me know.
- oustcat's problem is different: the feed you're posting to twitter is your twitter timeline itself! So of course every time twitterfeed sends a post to twitter, there's a new item in your timeline which it will pick up and post again next time. I suspect there's some mistake when you set up the feed, as I can't see why you would want to post your twitter timeline RSS feed to twitter...

Inappropriate?I'm posting my Twitter timeline back to Twitter as a way of allowing multiple people to update a single account. I know it's possible to all use the same account, but you can only use one cell phone. So I was hoping to use twitterfeed to sort of aggregate all the twitter posts from 5 different accounts into one account that people can follow.

Inappropriate?Dan: you could post the timeline with friends of "user A" to twitter account "user B", and then follow "user B", which should give you all the tweets of user A and the people user A follows.
However, by definition you can't post the timeline with friends of "user A" to twitter account "user A" without causing a never-ending loop. -
Inappropriate?I think that's similar to what I'm doing. I'm posting the timeline of my account ("dansinch") to another account ("sinch"). I want to add 4 more feeds that will post their timelines to the "sinch" account. That way people can follow "sinch" and automatically get all of our posts.
Are you saying I could do the same thing if I set up another account and have it follow only the 4 people i want to include and then have that timeline posted to the account that people would actually follow? I'm not sure how that's any different from what I'm doing though, as far as the RSS feed goes. Wouldn't I still be getting multiple posts? -
Inappropriate?I think this should work, the main thing is not to post back to the same account.
As an aside, you may also want to look at perhaps using the "with friends" feed instead of just your own timeline - that way you may be able to post your posts and the post of people you follow at the same time in one RSS feed. -
Inappropriate?Hey Mario, the problem seems to be resolved now... for me atleast... Thank you very much!
I’m very happy twitterfeed user

Inappropriate?Hello,
I'm actually having a similar problem here. I've set my blog to feed into Twitterfeed, and then update my Facebook status, and it seems to repost the same blog post as my status every time it updates. Does this make sense? Any suggestions? -
Inappropriate?gwolinetz: could you let me know the twitter id you're posting to, and I'll take a closer look.
-
Inappropriate?Hey Mario, my twitter id is gwolinetz. Any help you could provide would be awesome. Also, sorry for the delayed response, work and etc.

Inappropriate?gwolinetz: it seems you were trying to update twitter with your facebook status updates through twitterfeed, and at the same time updating facebook status with your twitter posts. is that right? If so, it's only logical that there will be a never-ending loop, as the same status message will just keep being bounced from one service to the other and back again.
I think you just need to decide if you want to update twitter with your facebook status, or facebook with your twitter status, but not both.. -
Inappropriate?I think I realized that sometime between when I posted this and now. Either way, thanks for checking this out.
I’m happy, but sheepish

Inappropriate?I'm having a problem with double posts too. I have my Facebook friend's status updates sent to an RSS feed which is picked up in Twitterfeed and posted through a Twitter account that I created and am following.
When a Facebook friend posts an update to their status, I get it in my Twitter which is good but then an hour later, I'll get that same update again.
I'm not sure what is going on.
Thanks much.
I’m confused

Inappropriate?Howard, could you let me know the twitter account/name you're posting to, and I'll take a look.
-
Inappropriate?Hi Mario, thanks for your help. Twitterfeed is a great tool.
I made a twitter account called fbbot that is posting the contents of my Facebook friend status update RSS feed.
However, it is posting every status update twice.
Thanks,
Howard
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I think that the feeds were working properly until I turned off the links posting then I started getting two of everything. I could turn the links back on to see what happens but will wait to hear from you before I make any changes.
-
Inappropriate? What is your twitter account name? I'll take a look when I get a minute.
-
Inappropriate?Mario the account is fbbot
-
Inappropriate?Howard, I can't see anything odd with this, so it should work as expected. If you do get duplicate tweets when you re-enable it, please let me know.
-
Inappropriate?please solve my problem I'm using twitterfeed to take my RSS feed from Cricbuzz and post that on twitter but I am getting double posts on my twitter account
-
Inappropriate?msahmed: I'll need some more info to be able to help. what's the twitter account you're posting to?
-
Inappropriate?Mario, I'm still getting double posts for everything through twitterfeed. I deleted fbbot and made a new one called ToriSocks hoping that it would fix the problem but it is still duplicating. I think it started duplicating everything when I turned off the URL link at the end.
