TwitterFeed not updating to Twitter!!
Hi! I'm posting to my twitter account Greys_Gabble and the twitterfeed hasn't updated.
I posted 12 posts to my blog over 2 hour ago (and that was when I did the last one, the first one was wayyy before that) and I have twitterfeed set to update every 30 minutes I would have expected a couple of the posts to hit my twitter page by now, but nothing.
The RSS is working fine, as I have an RSS reader and my blog's has updated all of those posts, so it's not the RSS.
the website I am twitterfeeding from is http://www.greysgabble.com (but obviously I've used the RSS feed address on Twitterfeed).
Any ideas?

Inappropriate?Well, it still hasn't updated and it's been over 3 hours now!!
I’m really really annoyed
-
Inappropriate?Just in case these are the details:
Feed URL: http://www.greysgabble.com/?feed=atom
Twitter Acct: http://www.twitter.com/Greys_Gabble
and I've just logged into Twitterfeed and it doesn't say there are any problems with the feed.
I have also tried this Feed URL: http://feedproxy.google.com/GreysGabble it tests fine saying 'Feed parsed OK' but then when I save it and go to the dashboard it says 'Error calling feedburner awareness API'
So I changed it back to the /?feed=atom and it said "Feed parsed OK" then pressed save and it says 'no info not a feedburner feed'. Which it isn't, so I assume it is a working RSS feed. (which it is because it's still updating on my RSS Reader, I've got the new post I just put up 10 minutes ago in my RSS Reader.)
I've also tried changing the update time to 1hour, but it doesn't seem to be working, although it has only been 20 minutes, so I will give it some time.
I’m more and more frustrated
-
Inappropriate?Since changing the update time from 30 minutes to 1 hour, it has updated my twitter. But that still doesn't fix the fact that rather than taking 1.5 hours to put up the 13 posts to twitter, it will now take double that.
Please fix this when you get back from your holiday, I have no idea why it isn't working.
I’m mollified... for now.
-
Inappropriate?Well, that didn't work. Because an hour + later, and it hasn't updated again, there are still 8 posts that haven't been put up!
I've changed it back to 30 minutely. see if that helps, maybe I need to sit here and bloody change it every 30 - 60 minutes until they are all up.
I’m super annoyed now
-
Inappropriate? That certainly didn't work. I've not changed it back to hourly, hoping that will make it put up the next 5 posts.
on a side note: Why can we only put up 5 posts each update? I think that's silly. 10 would be better.
I’m really really super annoyed and frustrated
-
Inappropriate?it eventually added 1 post. So I have manually put in all the other.
I'm thinking of making the change to HelloTXT....
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I've currently got it to update hourly and it seems to have worked all day yesterday, but isn't working now.
I've had 6 or 7 new posts up this morning for a couple of hours now and none have updated to twitter, the RSS Feed is fine.
I’m angry
-
Inappropriate?this is still not working properly.
I've got it set to hourly update and it will only work sometimes. It will update sporadically even though I added 10 posts all between 10 and 11am, and 11 it will post 5 then it won't post anymore until 2pm or 5pm, but it won't post the remaining 5 posts, just a couple. Then it never posts the other ones so I have to manually enter then into Twitter.
Also, no matter what I do it won't ever update on 30 minutely.
I’m feeling like I'm wasting my breath

I've updated twitter myself with the 6 posts that got missed. -
It looks like the issue may be related to how twitterfeed posts the 5 items - every time it checks the feed, it posts the newest X items (depending on your settings), so if were to add 10 new items inbetween 2 twitterfeed checks, it would only post the most recent 5 of them. The next time it checks, it won't go back to the old ones, as it will just check for new content.
There is one possible way around it, but you'd have to be a little careful:
In the twitterfeed feed settings, use "post based on GUID" instead of the "post based on pubDate" default, and then uncheck the "feed is sorted" checkbox. What this does is:
- check the feed for new items not based on their publish date, but purely on their unique ID
- this means it will post even older items, if their ID hasn't previously been posted
You'll still be limited to 5 updates every time twitterfeed checks the feed, but potentially it would then go an post the older items the next time it checks. One thing to be aware of is that this setting may mean that it will eventually post even very old content in the feed, as all publish dates are ignored, and potentially any post that hasn't previously been sent to twitter could be posted. -
I've had no problem previously. I've had Twitterfeed in use for a few months now and never had a problem with posting 10 or 20 new posts in 1 or 2 hours. They would always update to Twitter, just in reverse order 5 at a time. Why is it different now? And why won't the 30 minutely update work anymore? -
The majority of feeds are set to update every 30 minutes, so there doesn't seem to be a general issue. Perhaps you could try and change it back to 30 minutes, and let me know if that doesn't work for your account, so I can take a look to see if there is a specific problem.
