URL shortener problems
Posts to Ping.FM should just use Ping.FM's built in URL shortener. Otherwise URLs get shortened twice... Better yet, there should be an option to *not* shorten the URL.

Inappropriate?Strange, in my testing, and looking at twitterfeed users who do use ping.fm, the shortened links were always passed "as is" and not re-shortened by ping.fm. Which shortener do you use, and do you have an example post where I can see this, so I can try and take a closer look?

I've been using TinyURL, mostly because it doesn't require any other information (username/password, API key, etc...) as I don't really care about tracking my links.
http://twitter.com/mattack/status/193... Is my latest tweet from tweetburner. If you go to http://tinyurl.com/preview.php to enable their preview feature, then go to my tweet and click the Ping.fm link you'll get TinyURL's preview of my post... -
OK, let me check with ping.fm - because many users use URL shorteners that come with stats and analytics, I wanted to keep whatever shortener they use, rather than shortening through ping.fm. It seems to work for most (as far as I can see), so am not sure why yours are being re-shortened. -
Inappropriate?Looks like I can disable link shortening on the Ping.fm side, but this is not ideal. I use Ping.fm to post from XMPP and other sources and would like it to shorten links...
I think the option to not shorten the URL in Twitterfeed would be best.
Oh, and thanks for your help. : ) -
Inappropriate?my ping.fm do not shorten the already shorten links.
but.
i use ping.fm to also post to delicious.
that cause my delicious links get shorten. imho, that's not good.
so i really like to have options to not shorten the links.
tnx.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?I too would like to be able to disable the url shortener. Is that something we can expect as a new feature?
