URL Shorteners - Not helpful! Any advice
Hi there,
Twitterfeed is up and running perfectly for me - reading an RSS feed and then going via HelloTxt to post onto Facebook, so thanks for that. Ping.FM has not been workign for the last 2 weeks, i have no idea why but i could not get it to work,
I am just using the Title of the RSS post followed by a shortened URL to the Permalink of the article - which is great.
eg "Title Here 12345 http://bit.ly/1234"
However i am having some problems using Twitterfeed to go into MySpace status, because Short URLs are banned by MySpace (eg no bit.ly or equivalent)!
A solution was that i was going to prepend eg http://link.com/news - which would be perfect... but the prepend message box only allows for 20 characters so a URL is too long... and remember URL shorteners cannot be used. Arrrrgggggh
Any help on this or plans to allow us to disable URL shorteners completely if needed? Seems a shame to have such a great service but for it to just fall short on this.
Thanks in advance
Calum
