Last.fm scrobbling
A way to automatically scrobble songs played to Last.fm would be great.
And if there's a way to use the same last.fm software (to allow us to Love/Tag/Recommend, etc) would be even better!

Inappropriate?Hi,
Currently Twones focuses on web-based online players, but we also support a couple of "local players". The last.fm client fits that second category. We regularly evaluate what applications to support, so vote on this topic and we may prioritize it!
For now last.fm is tracked through web plays only (including the nice fire.fm add-on for Firefox).
(same question: http://getsatisfaction.com/twones/top...) -
Inappropriate?oh yeah, full audioscrobbler support is a must for music lovers! just posted about wanting support for media monkey but if there was full audioscrobbling everything would come through even if the player was not specifically supported here...

Inappropriate?i would definitely love to see this feature. as i am a long time last.fm user which always missed the feature to scrobble the tunes i listen to on youtube or myspace. twones would fulfill this feature. please add the ability to scrobble the tracks from twones to last.fm
I’m happy

Inappropriate?Yes, great idea and great for scrobbling music from sites that don't support Last.fm scrobbling! :-)
I’m confident

Inappropriate?rather than become a scrobbler, just api link to the account (similar to friendfeed) - surely it can just scrape off artists and titles from the users account.
I'd prefer that - having ilike, lastfm, spotify, yada yada yada sure creates a lot of traffic.

Inappropriate? It'd be cool if this would go both ways. Scrobble internet-listened tunes TO last.fm, and import locally-played tracks (that are scrobbled to last.fm via AudioScrobbler) FROM last.fm into Twones. Basically, full sync between Twones and last.fm. Having to use IE to track iTunes in Twones on a PC is a deal-breaker.

Inappropriate?I think you'll be doing yourself a huge disservice by not doing this. 75% of the music I ever listen to never touches the web, Last.fm wins because they Scrobble my various iPods and machines. Also, judging by the number of people who want to see it in this thread, there's obviously consumer demand!

I have to agree but for a different perspective. 80% (probably more actually) of my music is from the web. I certainly hope twones wouldn't think this would be threatening to them. I'm assuming it is another issue wish would be great to hear actually. I think this offers a way around direct twones scrobbling of sites that twones can't scrobble. For example, last.fm scrobbles my thesixtyone.com playing (which is around 80% of my internet music). I'm guessing there may be another example or two of such. I don't know. But the point is, if twones could do this then that would be a work around for scrobbling T61 (thesixtyone.com). However, i must acknowledge that apart from other issues, it brings up the problem with double scrobbling of something like my Windows Media Player. But i think even that could be addressed. But back to Jonathan's observation. There is definitely a demand for such that if it is not possible, a reason is probably wise to disclose at this point, only in my opinion of course. I really like the new twones rollout. But I'm really on the precipice of having to make a choice in the future for who really can scrobble what I truly use the most (and as a whole) on the internet. I'm really pulling for you guys on this issue or some variant solution. -
Inappropriate? The problem with scrobbling stuff from Twones is that artist information is sometimes missing or incorrect from YouTube videos. (I'm sure this applies to other services as well, though.) There's not really a set format like with MP3s. Some videos don't have artist information while others have song titles before artist information, which Twones reads with some interesting results. Others use bizarre symbols like tildes (~) to separate information. last.fm will do some corrections, but I'm not really sure what the limits are. I think stuff like that would have to be entered manually by users somewhere along the line, and I'm not sure how well some of those corrections would actually work.
I’m thoughtful

You're completely right. But tracking could have the positive effect for these services, as did last.fm for mp3, to urge people to get their tags right.
