My wife's luggage was delayed for 5 days

Flying through Chicago, my wife's luggage got "lost." I've had that happen going through Chicago before, but it usually gets to me a bit later hat day or the next morning. They told us at the luggage claim to not expect it until late the next day due to weather concerns.

Long story short, it took five days and 7 calls to United, each taking no less than 20 minutes, most taking over an hour. This does not include the calls to the local baggage claim to see if they could help.

My wife was insulted over the phone, told there was nothing that could be done, and in the end, offered a $25 certificate for her trouble. This is after having to spend an extra $200 buying clothes and other items to have something other than the clothes on her back to wear.

They didn't even correctly credit her mileage to her account. I have a lot of miles with United, but I don't know if I will ever fly them again unless they do something to make this right
