Online banking continuously prompts me to register my computer
I pretty much have to "register" my computer every single time I log on to the online banking site. Please fix!

Inappropriate?I've had no problem with it myself... just "registered" it once with the extra personal questions.
I’m hmm

Inappropriate? This problem affects me too on Firefox 3. I sent in a support request to Vancity via email (no response, and that was months ago) and the telephone operator wasn't helpful. Granted, this was a late night call and he might have been one of a few representatives available on the phone.
The inability to "register" my computer prevents two things for me:
- using 1Password so that I don't have to remember my access code (it's secure behind my ultra-secure "one password")
- using Wesabe's Firefox plugin to automatically, in the background, update my spending and saving tracking page
Since the question chosen is one of 3 that I've specified, it's not possible to code in logic to either Wesabe or 1Password.
My iPhone seems to be "registered" at least. -
Inappropriate?Unscientific to say the least, but I've been keeping track of when it asks me my security question after registering my computer, and so far so good. Vancity recently redesigned their website, and so far, post-redesign, it didn't ask me to "register".

Inappropriate?Just a thought - make sure that any addons you have are *not* blocking your cookies. The "register my computer" sets a cookie in your browser. If that cookie is not present, it will ask you for the extra validation. This is required to protect you from phishing attacks.
If you can't be sure about your installed addons, and you want to do a test, then run firefox with a new profile.
1. "C:\Progra...\firefox.exe" -ProfileManager
2. Create a new profile. Don't install any addons, or change settings.
Then try to log in and save register the computer. It should work in this new profile. -
Inappropriate?Hi Boris. How is it even possible that I only saw this today? This is actually something we're actively working on, as it is an issue for some users (especially advanced users who delete or don't accept cookies).
Wade is right, currently this feature is entirely cookie-based, but soon there will be another flash-based element which should work better.
And to Richard's comment, I have been actively working with Wesabe and are now integrated into their system. I love Wesabe, check it out.
Boris, please let me know if this continues to be an issue, and I'll let you know when the fix goes in. -
Inappropriate? The computer registration is no longer an issue for me, and hasn't been for months. I'm about to feedback on a recent change to the online banking system that makes it hard (impossible?) for Wesabe automatically upload a statement, but I'll start another thread for that.
