Shorter, quieter ads at the start of videos!
Can we have shorter ads at the start of videos?
I wonder if staff is even aware of how repetitive and annoying they are to many users. They are way too LONG. The main reason I use Veoh, second to anime, is to watch music videos, and when you are browsing, you have to sit through blaring 30-second ads every time just to sample a quick song. This ruins the video watching experience and forces me and others to browse on Youtube, so you LOSE hits this way. I can't tell you how many users (and ex-users) talk to me about the exact same thing. These ads are also way too loud.
I know you need ads and on every video, but replacing them with much shorter, quieter or even mute ads will probably be more effective and comfortable for many of your users.

Inappropriate?Did anyone notice- there's a very rare ad on the site for chips, its just a picture of three bags of delicious-looking chips, yet it is more effective than the other ads where that run-of-the-mill singer "SAID IS WAS ONLY A DREAM" or the one with the actress's song "Woke up today, it was another lovely day", its like are you serious? Quiet ads work. Every time I'm at the store I look for those chips.

lol? I just watched some videos and muted the ad the first time, then on the second ad the volume was back to normal. How do you get this non-changing volume setting that you are speaking of?

Inappropriate?I wear an ear-bud most of the time I'm on veoh. So, when i click on a vid to watch- Sometimes I forget about the ear blasting possibility of the pre-movie advertisement and BOOM! My ear smarts from that crazy advertisements' blaring into my ear till I can mute it, properly. The ads seem to be set at "Scream volume" especially if I have the "Mute" volume slashed before the advertisement loads and begins. It almost makes me chuckle (after I get my hearing back in my right ear) thinking veoh is getting revenge on me for pre-selecting the mute option before the pre-movie advertisement begins! I even have to scream out to counter-act the piercing quality of some advertisement blaring in my ear, from time to time ...
Since veoh is somehow over-riding the pre-movie advertisement option for mute, on the web player, couldn't the volume be set at a medium or low sound- even for the mute over-ride function? My ear(s) would thank ya if the volume would be considerably lower. Thank-you for listening! Laters!
P.S. If my web player was on "Mute" on the last vid I watched before I closed it- then selected another vid to watch and the player reloaded and opened- the player is still on "Mute." So, that is when the mute over-ride happens. And the sound will be even louder than normal... It's loud already, (the pre-movie advertisement) but piercingly loud when it over-rides the "mute."

Dude! arty4me! That is such a good idea! Now that is a revenue builder veoh could make some moula with- Premium members whom pay a yearly membership fee for no ads... Errr.. Yeah! 0_u Cool idea!
