VZNavigator's not perfect, so let the users help
VZNavigator's data is sometimes imperfect in these key areas:
I'd love to see an easy path for users to submit suggestions and corrections on all three of these. "Easy path" means it should be easy to use and adequately visible or findable.
- Incomplete or incorrect maps
- Strange or unnecessary turns in routing
- Old or missing info in business directory

Inappropriate?Based on the lack of response from Verizon I'd say no one from Verizon pays attention to this page, but I'll list some suggestions here for the heck of it:
1) Easier way to change driving preferences so that I can choose on-the-fly to avoid or to use highways, rather than have to dig through the menu for every trip.
2) Route saving- I have absolutely no sense of direction so I use the navigator a lot. I'd like to save the routes of some of the trips I make so that I can bring them up more easily. One way to do this would be to allow unlimited additions to the main Navigator Find Location screen (Home, Work, XXXX, XXXX etc.). This is like a shortcut to the Favorites and could be used for school, doctor, store, and other user-generated locations.
3) Louder navigator voice (some of this is controlled by the model of the phone)
4) A option to postpone incoming texts while Navigator is on so that when messages arrive, the routing system isn't overridden unbeknownst to the user (happens to me way too often!).
5) Automatic re-routing options when traffic jams/slowdowns are imminent. -
Inappropriate?Unfortunately, no map service is perfect. VZW does use maps provided by NAVTEQ, a company that provides service to more than just VZW. That being said, you can submit feedback if information is wrong. The maps are updated frequently, however, submitting feedback will help to have an issue addressed.

That's a website you can submit said feedback. Extremely long URL so that's why I shortened it.
You can also find this link by signing into the Navigator website http://www.vzw.com/navigator. Once logged in, you go to Help > FAQ > Mapping. According to this section the maps are updated by NAVTEQ every 3 months. Hope this helps.

(I posted a reply to you asking a question about the NAVTEQ interface. I had trouble deleting it, so it may still be here, but it isn't relevant anymore as I've answered my own question.)
This is exactly the kind of thing I had in mind and was hoping for. I acknowledge that no mapping service can be perfect, so all I ask for is an easy avenue for feedback just like this. Actually, I would also ask for a one-month-or-less turnaround on updates instead of three months, but that's more NAVTEQ's problem than anyone else's. :-)
Thank you for your informative reply! I really appreciate it. -
Inappropriate? Thanks for the link to report mapping issues, aerix88- that is useful. If someone also knows of a link for submitting suggestions to improve VZNavigator's features, I hope they will post it here as well.

Inappropriate? My biggest problem with it is that on my BlackBerry Tour is will sometimes give directions through the speaker and sometimes through the headset and there is no setting to change this and I have to restart the phone to get it to work correctly.
I’m frustrated
