Click on the pictures instead of having to type
We had a user ask a question via support email asking us to change it so you can click on the images instead of typing the letters. We currently make users type them so people can't look over their shoulders and inadvertently give away their categories (this is in the cyber cafe scenario).
Is clicking on the images something other users would like to see?

Inappropriate?I don't think the _main_ reason to have users type the letters instead of clicking on the images is to prevent shoulder-surfers from stealing your secret image categories (although it is a pretty good reason).
Scott Blomquist had a thought on this a while back:
Why do I have to type anything in? Why can’t I simply click on the images for my categories?
There are two big reasons for this: 1) security and 2) compatibility with our advertising features.
From a security point of view, if an hacker tries to use simple software to attack the image grid, he has many more possible choices if he has to guess from every letter in the alphabet, rather than simply mimicking a click within one of 12 or 16 images in the grid.
For our advertising features, allowing a user to click through an image for more details or for a special dinner coupon from the “food” category is an important part of how we keep our site free for our users. It would be difficult to distinguish clicks for authentication from clicks indicating user interest.
It would be interesting to talk about how we can modify the ImageShield if we want to implement this image clicking idea.

I think it's natural for people to click on the images as they represent BIG TARGET AREAS. There's been lots of usability research to suggest that clicking big buttons increases accuracy and usability, and I've always thought that, regardless of the security benefits, people will want to click the images -- ESPECIALLY on mobile devices.
I think we need to strongly consider how to make this work, given the other desires expressed (one that benefits the user, one that benefits Vidoop -- users should always come first!). -
Inappropriate?I like the idea of being able to click from a usability standpoint.
However - I would GLADLY sacrifice that feature if the advertising that comes through it would help keep the company afloat. This is one of my favorite and most use utilities on the web (and I'm on the web a lot!).
