Inappropriate?No problem.
Just do the following:
1. Save the plugin under your destop as xpi file
2. Change the extension by renaming the file, from .xpi to .zip
3. Extract the zip file
4. Open the extracted folder
5. Find "install.rdf file" & open it with Notepad
6. Find <em:maxversion> , and change it's value to be 3.5
7. Save the file
8. Go back and zip the folder again
9. Change the extension of the zipped file to .xpi again
10. Now install the plugin you just modified
That's it :)
I've a firefox plugin myself and here it is https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire..., I made it to be make searching and translating is much faster.</em:maxversion>

Inappropriate?indeed. tried your method but hit a snag.

Inappropriate?I can't get it to work either, there has to be an update plugin due soon surely...
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?I am growing concerned with the lack of support from a site that stores all of my passwords.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I've got much of the same concern as Rob Owen has, and I can't believe only 5 people have this problem. Is there at least a hint about when the update is due? That would be helpful.
I’m worried

Inappropriate?I have had the same problem. I was working with an earlier version of Firefox, and I kept having problems loading. Suddenly the reporting error told me to update the browser which I did. Until that, vidoop was more or less stable but I kept noticing some crashing or unstability but nothing out of the ordinary. After update, I have tried averything you people advise, but brower does not let me install it. Maybe Muhamad has an earlier version.
I would not attempt to force install this pluggin because browser might become unstable. I'm worried because all my info is with them. I have emaied them, and waiting for their reply. I'm going to try from twitter.
sometimes, closing programs arrange with similar ones a patch to move accounts to the competitors running program. Let us wait to see if they arrange this or at least notify us about our files and info. THIS IS A MUST FOR THEM, for this is a very significant info they are keeping.
If somebody knows anything else, please let us know.
I’m anxious

Inappropriate? Can someone from vidoop please reply and tell me that they are still in business and more importantly are looking at this MAJOR issue.
I’m extremely frustrated

Inappropriate?Last post is already 4 month ago. but the problem still seems to exist. at least with my firefox.
The Blog from vidoop ist also still offline!
What's going on out there. where can i get news about the company still existing or not?
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate? You can google Vidoop news and find that there is nothing on the Internets more recent than last May.
I eventually had to upgrade to Firefox 3.5 to use some other tools, so I had to leave Vidoop behind.
I actually went through my account and edited each entry. When you edit it, you have the opportunity to look at your password. I use EverNote and took screen captures of each entry. I then transferred those values to a more traditional (and much less convenient) password vault.
I then deleted my Vidoop account. I would hate to think that some corporate raider could make an offer on the company and have access to all my passwords. I'm sure I may be exposed in some archive of their database. But I figured the sooner I got out - the sooner my data would roll off.
It's very unfortunate. And there may be a skeleton crew keeping the old tool alive. But I'm looking at Firefox 3.5 and now Chrome, not to mention IE 8. Sometimes breaking up is hard to do.
Make your peace, but keep your eyes peeled for the rebirth or rebranding of Vidoop. Hope springs eternal.
That's my $0.02
