Sites and Passwords not being listed in mySites account
I have a problem in the "managed your saved password" page, as no sites/password are being displayed (even though there are some recorded as MyVidoop plug-in works fine).
When the page is displayed it takes a long time, then it will switch between "displaying icons" and "displaying password" for the status, and then nothing being displayed :-(

Inappropriate?Hi,
Sorry to hear about the trouble. So far I haven't been able to reproduce your bug. Does this happen for you all the time? What happens if you refresh the page?
I’m sad that you can't manage your passwords
-
Inappropriate?HERE is a FIREFOX screenshot to show that -nothing- is displayed when I open the Sites/Password Sites page.
And if I hit Refresh it's the same: no sites are listed (even though there are lots in my account, I can see them being added/updated in the activity log on the right).
and HERE is the same but with IE (notice that the Plug-in message is displayed, even though I have installed the plug-in on IE and is working fine)
I’m not sure ....

Inappropriate? To those who are having this problem:
When this happens, is your toolbar icon red (like this:
)?
Could you try these steps?
- In Firefox, go to Tools->Error Console and filter for errors only
- Click "clear".
- Refresh the sites tab page
- Copy/paste any errors in that panel
- In Firefox, go to Tools->Error Console and filter for errors only

Inappropriate? Here are the errors that may be relevant to Vidoop on my Firefox :
------------
Failed to load XPCOM component: C:\Documents and Settings\souyrif\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\zl4pc3cf.F\extensions\{2fa4ed95-0317-4c6a-a74c-5f3e3912c1f9}\components\build.sh
------------
Failed to load XPCOM component: C:\Documents and Settings\souyrif\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\zl4pc3cf.F\extensions\password.safe@vidoop.com\components\vpws_interface.idl
------------
Deprecated property window.title used. Please use document.title instead.
------------------------------
However: I have now uninstalled the plug-in (as a test) and tried again, the errors console doesn't show the plug-in errors anymore (as expected). but shows this CSS error:
Warning: Expected declaration but found '#'. Skipped to next declaration.
Source File: https://myvidoop.com/css/base.css
Line: 1119
Clicking on the error link it shows this bit of CSS: a.learn{position:static;top:0;#}
Were you saying that the display of the page logins/password would be linked with the plug-in ? -
Yes, the sites page communicates with your plugin to show any passwords stored on your computer (see here). Unfortunately, none of these errors give me any more clues.
Does your sites tab show passwords when the plugin is uninstalled? -
Inappropriate?Hi, No it doesn't show any sites/password when plug-in is installed, uninstalled, or on a new machine (I have a spare I tested). Which made me think that you may have to look at my profile, may be even reet it and I will recreate it.
Cause it' too strange. It seems that it went wrong JUST when I click on the "Import firefox password".
Another clue = would it make any difference that I have not confirm my account with Text msg ? (since I am non US). -
We're on to something now. We think you might have a special character in one of your password entries that causes our sites tab to hiccup (things like unicode characters and quotes are likely candidates).
Could you email us at myvidoop-fb@vidoop.com and give us your myvidoop username? -
Inappropriate?Hi,
As per my last email I said I was concern that it may be because behind company Firewall bu I was now able to check form home and it's the same, Sites/PAssword/icons not loading.
thanks -
Inappropriate?I think the below may be of interest for you guys at technical support, since I tried to troubleshoot a bit better what is happening exactly.
since I really wanted to make full use of MyVidoop here is the steps I took today :
Problem:
- current account used http://myopenid1.myvidoop.com does not display the list of sites and password in the relevant page, neither on IE nor Firefox, same behaviour on any computer, except on iPhone.
Steps taken
- I logged out
- register for a new account called "myNewopenID2" http://myNewopenID2.myvidoop.com
- logged in on that new account from IE
- logged out from gmail
- logged in from gmail
- MyVidoop IE plug-in offered me to save the password
- Back on MyVidoop page: I can now see the list of sites to display "Gmail"
- now logged in on Firefox
- MyVidoop displays the only sites/password Gmail I have
- Click the drop down list and select "Import Firefox Passwords"
- the page is refresh, password and icons loaded, but no status message telling me to wait
The Error console is showing
"Error: Permission denied to call method Location.toString"
"Error: console is not defined Source File: https://myvidoop.com/account/browsers Line: 405"
- I then refresh the page after 1 min, the page takes about 40 seconds to load (much slower than before)
- this time the "Sites" page is displayed BLANK.
- Back on IE: the Sites page is now not showing any sites. (same as Firefox)
CONCLUSION
I believe there is definately something wrong with the Firefox Import Password engine, it DOES import the sites/password and uses it correcly when on the sites, but once the option is used it withdraw the ability to view the list of sites/passwords.

Inappropriate?hummmm... no news from MyVidoop support, but I can see that you fixed my problem: now the list of sites are displayed on IE and Firefox.
It take s along time to load the list (since all in one page) , but it works and I can now edit.
Thanks MyVidoop team !

ok, so no news from MyVidoop support anymore :-( there were very responsive at begining of this post but then silence.
I hope it's because they are busy working on a new version of the plug-in with advanced options, longer timeout, and specially provide multi-pages in the list of sites/passwords as the loading of the page is ridiculous if you have more than 100 sites.
I have been using MyVidoop for 30 days now, and am ready to pay a small fee to get better features if needed.
One more feature : a smaller image pop-up with no add (for paying users) ,like a top right corner pop-up that will nto take the whole screen. -
