vidloop plugin
Running FF 3.0 RC 2 on a MBP 17" Leopard 10.5.3. I have the plugin installed. I have been getting a plugin error at the top of the page. I have cleared cache and cookies in FF and uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin. No change, can you help? Error message: Cannot activate your myvidloop plugin. Please try again later. Would have included screenshot, but couldn't figure out how. Awaiting your reply.
Cordially,
Neil.

Tom Broos,
You are my hero. Thanks for figuring this out :) I think this may be a Firefox 3 bug, so I'm going to check into this on bugzilla.
So that this will appear at the top of the page, I'm reposting your solution: under Firefox preferences, go to the "Privacy" tab and make sure third party cookies are enabled:
I’m ecstatic

Inappropriate?I have a MBP 17", 10.4.11, 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. I downloaded FF 3, RC 2, and the plugin worked, but with no local password because of a known FF3 issue ( see https://myvidoop.com/help/issues-myvi...).
I deactivated and re-activated the browser, and it still worked.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the lastest plugin (1.0.7), and it still worked.
I'll get in touch with some of the other Vidoopers, and see if someone can dig deeper.
I’m nonplused

Inappropriate?Hi Neil,
What Firefox extensions do you have installed? Could you try disabling them, and let us know if you still receive that error message?
By the way, to make a screenshot on MacOSX you can hit Command-Shift-4, select the area that you want to save with your mouse, and the shot will be saved to your Desktop as "Picture 1.png" or something similar. -
Inappropriate?In an email to myvidoop-fb, Neil reported the following extensions. Disabling them did not help the problem go away: on https://myvidoop.com/, a message saying "Could not activate your myVidoop plugin. Please try again later.". We'll need to look in the database for further ideas.
* Adblock Plus 0.7.5.4
* Better Gmail 2 0.5
* Download Statusbar 0.9.6.1
* Flashblock 1.5.6
* FlashGot 1.0
* Gmail Notifier 0.6.3.4.1
* Google Reader Watcher 0.0.12.1
* Me.dium 4.0.2.7298
* myVidoop Plugin 1.0.7
* PicLens 1.6.4.3333
* ScribeFire 2.2.6
* StumbleUpon 3.18
* ThumbStrips 1.5.1
* TinEye Image Search 0.4
* TwitterFox 1.5.5.2
* User Agent Switcher 0.6.11 -
Inappropriate?Neil,
I've been trying to troubleshoot your problem, and I have an idea. It requires a little work on your part though, sorry about that. Try creating a new profile on Firefox. After you've created it, re-download the plugin and try signing in to myVidoop. Then, let us know if your shield turns red.
I’m sad that this may be the best workaround right now

Inappropriate?This bug is hard to reproduce!
For those interested with a bit of technical know-how, the problem seems to be that Firefox 3 profiles can get corrupted in a way that doesn't allow the plugin to look at your myVidoop cookies. This step is currently used to prevent cross-site scripting attacks, so without the cookie the plugin cannot activate. I have an idea to work around this problem, and I'll post an update once I have more information.
I’m hopeful

Inappropriate?Perhaps this is the kind of price that one pays for running a Release Candidate... I'm interested to learn if you can find a fix.
I’m waiting patiently
-
Could you try the latest version of our plugin (1.0.11) and see if it fixes your activation problem? -
Inappropriate?1.0.11 is installed, but still it's a no-go. I have the following plug-ins installed at home:
Canadian-English Dictionary
Ctrl-Tab
Customize Google
Download Statusbar
Firebux
FireFTP
FireGPG
Forecastfox
Google Bookmarks Button
Google Notebook
Image Zoom
Link Alert
Linky
myVidoop Plugin
Nuke Anything Enhanced
Open Image in New Tab
Speed Dial
Stop-or-Reload-Button
URL Link
I really don't want to un-install anything, and would rather not make a new profile. -
Inappropriate?Darn. Our team will sit down next week and figure something out. Thanks for the awesome help.
I’m disappointed

Inappropriate?We did add something to the plugin to help with this problem a while back, but I forgot to post about it. When you get this error, try clicking on the shield in your Firefox toolbar to go to the sites tab. Refresh the page, and your shield should turn red. Let us know if this helps.
We still haven't been able to reproduce this problem.

No, it doesnt works!! -
Inappropriate?I had the same problem
(using Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008072820 Firefox/3.0.).
After checking the "Accept third-party cookies" box, it worked again.
I’m waiting to see if this fixed your problem...

Inappropriate?I was having this issue as well. I have the following extensions installed:
Adblock Plus 0.7.5.5
Delicious Bookmarks 2.0.95
Firebug 1.2.0
Google Gears0.4.15.0
Greasemonkey 0.8.20080609.0
gTranslate 0.5.1
myVidoop Plugin 1.0.4
Operator 0.9.3
TimeTracker 1.2.4
Ubiquity 0.1.1
Using a new, blank profile with no addons installed other than the myVidoop one, I had no problem setting up the plugin.
Thanks for the tip, Tom - that got mine working as well, on the default profile. Thanks again.
I’m happy

Seems to have fixed it here too. Good work! -
Inappropriate?It doesn't solves the problem. Same problem, I tried to click this box, I cleaned the cookies, and restarted Firefox and MyVidoop... and it again says: "Cannot activate your myvidloop plugin. Please try again later".
I’m frustrated
-
This might be a silly suggestion, but make sure myvidoop.com isn't listed under "Exceptions..." on the Privacy tab.
