Quality of Pictures vs Performance

I started uploading my pictures in high quality (300 ppi, ARGB) cause i supposed viewbook would resize pictures for viewing but keeping the originals aside too, in case i want to buy a pro account and sell pictures via viewbook.
But i noticed the performance of the viewbook became slow, so i uploaded again in web quality (72 ppi, srgb) with a limited image size. This is faster but does leave me with several questions :

1. What specs does viewbook advise to upload ?
2. Do pro customers have to upload pics two times : one for pic selling, another for web viewing ?
3. What image size in pixels corresponds with small, large and wide when building portfolio pages ? I now have the situation that i uploaded pics in marginally smaller pixels size than eg large, so i have an empty spot on the sides, which does not look nice. If i could resize the picture in this view that would be no problem but i dont think this is possible ?
4. Ive uploaded a pic for a logo too, but again this is trial and error, what specs does viewbook advise to make sure the logo appears but doesnt cover my text part as happens now ?

Also, generally speaking, if i have to upload pics two to three times because of quality differences and trial and error re sizes, i will reach the limit of loaded images soon. It would be better and more fair if the number of pictures on viewbook at one given time shouldnt surpass 1000 pictures as this trial and error causes me to upload 1 picture a number of times.

Thx for feedback,
Wim

    Hi Wim,

    We optimized the conversion of Images:

    Viewbook resizes all images to 72 dpi .jpg, quality 75. Except for the Original one, this one is kept at it's original size, dpi and quality. We do however convert the original to .jpg too, if it is no .jpg file.

    1. What specs does viewbook advise to upload ?
    If you want people to download high quality images, upload high quality images.

    2. Do pro customers have to upload pics two times : one for pic selling, another for web viewing ?
    No, if you want to sell upload the high quality images, Viewbook resizes lower quality images automatically for display.

    The dimensions are:

    Large
    width:550px;
    height:350px;

    Wide
    width:550px;
    height:170px;

    Small
    width:272px;
    height:170px;

    You cannot resize the images, however you can 'frame' them. Just make sure your images has the appropriate dimensions.

    4. Ive uploaded a pic for a logo too, but again this is trial and error, what specs does viewbook advise to make sure the logo appears but doesnt cover my text part as happens now ?

    The dimensions for the logo are free. It will display the exact size of your image.
