Vimeo's terms of service are draconian, and they refuse to address the situation. Can we get a useful response, please?
I has been brought to light by several of Vimeo's users that the terms of service are decidedly ominous where intellectual property rights are concerned.
"VIMEO shall be entitled to unrestricted use of any Submission for any purpose whatsoever, commercial or otherwise, without compensation to the submitter."
Read for yourself here: http://www.vimeo.com/terms
Furthermore, Vimeo's own management refuses to address the concerns of their users, opting only to repeatedly post the same canned statement in their forum here: http://www.vimeo.com/forums/topic:12128
Since the discussion has now been locked by an administrator, it appears Vimeo has no intention of addressing their user's concerns, much less correcting the issue. They need to do so immediately, instead of sticking their heads in the sand, hoping the issue will go away.

Inappropriate?Absolutely agree with this, the outcry has now started, and you can't bury it. You have the same social media world that you try to reach to thank for that, just check twitter/friendfeed. It's just beginning, but it won't end, a decent response from you is imperative to address this issue.
You don't want to cast yourself in the same group like Facebook when they changed their TOS earlier this year and then had to change it back. Open discussion with your users and not just your lawyers are key!
