eirtext pro vodafone - not logging in
My eirtext pro will not login with vodafone, I have reinstalled it but it still does not work. I am able to login to the vodafone site successfully and use webtext.

Vodafone.ie support should now be fixed in v3.1.2 of EirText Pro.
The EirText (free version) update is also on the way.

I know you said that you've already reinstalled, but it might be worth trying the following again, exactly as listed:
- Delete app from device.
- Reboot device.
- Delete app from iTunes on Mac / PC.
- Sync device with iTunes.
- Redownload (for free) EirText Pro from iTunes on Mac / PC.
- Sync device with iTunes.
- Reboot device.
- Launch and configure app - do NOT hit the Test button.
- Send a message to yourself.
Let me know if that helps or not.

Hi, I did all these things. It just says message sending failed, the text successful, then message sending failed. I am 100% sure I am puting the correct login detail in.
Any other suggestions? -

I've tried the steps above several times, but no luck....

Hi George, can you please log in to Vodafone.ie on your desktop / laptop. Once logged in, in your web browser, click on View and then on Source. Copy the HTML code and paste it into an email, and send it to eirtext@vinnycoyne.com. I'll see if I can figure out what the problem is.

Inappropriate?Hi Vinny - I'm also having problems with Vodafone (on contract) like the above and others: Testing freezes the app and I have to close it (login details are definitely correct). Inappropriate?I have exact same problem on free vodafone,ie . Login details are correct as I can login and send through safari and iexplorer. Tried all of the above and even went as far as restore to 3.0.1 and still no luck. The free version is broken for Vodafone.ie at present. There is an update in review at Apple. I am waiting for them to approve it. The Pro version works fine though.

Inappropriate?I just updated to the new version of eirtext pro. Now i cannot use eirtext.pro or eirtext free . the username and password are correct.
i can use webtext from my pc and can use safari from my phone but not eirtext pro.
i am with o2, and my phone is an iphone 3gs.
i have deleted eirtext pro from my phone and itunes, reinstalled it for free, then re-booted my phone , and synced with itunes but still the same..no joy!
. i have 200 free texts and it cannot see them ?
please help as i love the app and am lost without it !

Hi Mary,
When you reinstalled the app, did you use the App Store on the phone, or iTunes on your Mac / PC?
When you first run the app, it will say you have no messages remaining, but the counter will update when you try to send your first message.
Are you still having login issues? What error messages are you seeing?

Okay, thanks. Can you log in to O2.ie in Safari on your iPhone?
Also, would you mind re-entering your number and password into EirText Pro and try send a test message to yourself?

Since then it's crashed every time I clicked on settings to correct my details. I've tried deleting and reloading from iTunes several times, and have also deleted and redownloaded but still no joy. Hi Mark, try the following:
- Run the app and create a new message
- Enter the number 0801234567 and tap the "tap here to add 0801234567 to recipients..." text
- Type in the following message: EirText::KeychainOff
- You should see a popup message telling you that the keychain access has been disabled. If not, try the above steps again.
- Close the app, reopen it and tap the Settings button.
- Enter your login details again.

problem logging into o2 safari on my phone, error message reads "server not responding".
i cannot send a message to myself vinny as eirText pro is frozen.
i would be willing to buy it again, if that is an option?

Hi Mary, if you cannot access the O2 site using Safari then EirText Pro will not work. It sounds like either the O2 site is unavailable, there is an issue with your account, or you don't have web access.
Can you access any websites using Safari on the iPhone?
I don't know if re-downloading will help. We'll leave that for the moment...

today i can access the O2 site using Safari, rang 02 yesterday and they said that they were having trouble with site?
there is no problem with my account and we have wi-fi in the house and the internet is up and running.
i can access all sites from Safari, but still EirText Pro will not work, still frozen.
yesterday i downloaded the free version but it will not work either, although it loads, lets me write a message, but then login to 02 fails?

Failing that, try reset your password on O2.ie, enter the new login info in EirText Pro and try again. -

logged onto 02 , webtext area ,as asked however EirText Pro will still not work.
it has completely frozen so when i touch settings button it gets me nowhere,
reset my password on 02 but of course i cannot enter new login info in EirText Pro.
this might be worth mentioning vinny, when i go into settings, EirText Pro is not listed with all the other apps i have purchased ? though i tried to buy it again and was told i had already purchased it ?

Inappropriate?EirText Pro isn't listed in the Settings app. All EirText settings are configured within the app itself.
What is your internet connection like? When the app is launched, it checks online for new messages, which could be what is causing the freeze. If you have a particularly slow data connection, this could be a problem.
Would you mind trying to open http://push.eirtext.com/EirTextWeb/St... in Safari on your iPhone and let me know if the page loads okay.

Inappropriate?Adam, this topic is three months old. Vodafone support is broken again, but the app requires an update to fix it. I have posted all of this information publicly on my site http://vinnycoyne.com.
For the record, if you purchase an app, you will never have to pay for it again. It's tied to your iTunes account. Once you hit the purchase button you'll be told that you already own the app and can redownload it for free.

How are you? I am having trouble logging in to Vodafone.ie through eirtext(free).
I used to have an O2 account but now I have switch to Vodafone. The Eirtext App worked fine with Vodafone for a good while but not recently.
P.S. I've read the top part of this forum and have done the steps you ask George or Mary to do but it's not working for me.

Unfortunately, the free version of EirText is broken. I have an update in review at Apple, which should be available in a few weeks.
The Pro version was recently updated and is working 100% with Vodafone.ie.
