Inappropriate?Hi there,
Can I get a bit more info on the problem?
What provider are you using? O2, Meteor, Vodafone?
Are you using EirText or EirText Pro?
Was the app previously working for you, or is this your first time using it?

hi!
i'm living in japan.
i downloaded this application 2months ago and it worked normally.
now i don't know exactly but i cannot access to the provider.
i'm using VoipBuster as provider, and use the both of apply(pro and the old version).what should i do? -
RAKOTONDRAJAO: Can you please create another support topic for your problem. I will test VoipBuster support in the meantime.
Thanks,
Vinny. -
Inappropriate?some more information on my problem: I just downloaded the Pro version (which I should have downloaded straightaway of course) and uninstalled the free version. in the bottom left corner is a red Meteor sign overlaying the Eirtext icon. as I have O2, and the free Eirtext was set up for that and recognized that I think I understand why I can't connect. however, there is no way to change the provider ... at least not on my version (downloaded this morning.)
great app by the way, as I otherwise never would use the free O2 webtexts. and as I do a lot internationally it will save me a lot of money. quick question: using this outside of Ireland would be charged I think?
thanks for a solution!
Liesbeth
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?Hi Liesbeth, if you go into the More tab in EirText Pro, there's a blue button up the top. Tap that and it will bring up a list of providers and select O2.ie from the list.
You can use outside of Ireland as long as you have data or WiFi access. Please note that using cellular data (EDGE or 3G) when roaming can be quite expensive. With WiFi, the messages will be free. I have used it abroad with no issues at all. Saves a fortune!

I’m happy

hi Vinny. have changed the provider (tried that button before but it wasn't really working, must be the screen, have red cheeks from shame), re-entered my login and password and when I do TEST it first said log in failed, then it said cannot connect to server, and now it is logging in for what seems donkey's years ... what is funny is that the non Pro version did it all in a jiffey. -
Inappropriate?Hi Liesbeth,
The Test button is broken in the Pro version at present. I have a 3.0 update for the Pro version, but Apple are taking ages to approve it.
Can you send a message at all?

Inappropriate?Same problem - I'm justing getting a "logging in" busy message...
I've uninstalled Eirtext - and left only Eirtext pro installed.
I'm on 02 with a 3gS. -
Seems to be working fine here. Have you tried deleting and reinstalling from iTunes on the Mac / PC? -
Inappropriate?Hi - my vodafone password is mixed between upper and lower cases but eirtext does not allow upper case for pwds
-
Hi Roy, this is a bug in the current version I'm afraid. For now the only way around it is to type your password into the Notes app and copy & paste it into EirText. Either that or reset your password on O2.ie. This will be fixed in the 3.1 update.
