Vivaty crashes IE7 as soon as it starts to load the scene.
Newly installed and updated version of IE7. Vivaty ran fine for about a minute, then crashed the browser. Now, the browser crashes as soon as it starts to load the Vivaty page.

Hi guys,
First off, sorry about the email problem. We were upgrading a server, and it looked like it was bouncing some of our help inquiries. That should be fixed, so please let me know if you have any other questions.
The D3DERR error (such an unfriendly looking error!) could mean several things. First off, we're upgrading that message in the next version, so it should get much easier to understand. More importantly, we're releasing some fixes so you won't see it period. :)
But until then, to help us troubleshoot, can you please send us some more info? The best way you, as beta testers, can help us out is by sending us your graphics info. Here's how:
1) Go to "Start" and in the command area, type "dxdiag". This will open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.
2) At the bottom of the tool, click the "Save All Information" button. It'll create a txt file with hardware and driver information. Please email that to help [at] vivaty [dot] com, with the subject line "dxdiag".
We'll use that to contact you individually with follow-up questions and fixes.
There's no personally identifiable information in there, so nothing to fear. That info will help us make sure we're providing the right support.
While this isn't a be-all end-all fix, it'll help us fix these on an individual basis. So if you consistently experience this problem, try the steps above, and we'll tackle it together!
Thanks for your help!
Mark

Inappropriate?Hi Tribe!
Sorry to hear about this experience. Couple quick follow up questions to help us troubleshoot.
1) Can you tell us about the computer you're using to access? Is it a Windows XP or Vista machine? Are you by chance using Parallels on a Mac?
2) You're able to access Facebook OK, right? It's just when you click on the Vivaty Scenes Beta app in Facebook that you get the crash?
3) Did you encounter any problems when installing?
4) What happens when you visit this page?
http://www.vivaty.com/player_welcome.php
Thanks! -
Inappropriate?1) Windows XP
2) Facebook access is fine. The Vivaty app is what causes the crash.
3) Smooth installation
4) Tried [http://www.vivaty.com/player_welcome.php]. Browser crashed here as well. -
Inappropriate?Ok that's some good info. The most telling bit was the last one. It looks like the install didn't successfully complete. Let's give this a shot.
Have you tried reinstalling the Vivaty Player? If not, go here one more time:
http://www.vivaty.com/downloads/player/
After you go through the standard prompts, let the installer run. Now, the progress bar may look like it freezes. It's actually still running, despite the appearance. Give it a solid minute, just in case.
After installing, it will take you to a confirmation page that shows a rotating cube, if it successfully installed.
Let me know if that works. If not, I have a few more ideas we can try.
Thanks for helping us track this down! -
Inappropriate?Ok, I re-installed the vivaty player, and it worked long enough for me to change the color of my couches and get a video playing on the tv. (about five minutes total).
Then the browser crashed when I tried to edit one of the posters on the wall. Now I'm having the same problem again: can't even load the vivaty "start page". :(
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Very strange! I'm going to get you directly in contact with one of our QA folks to help troubleshoot with you. Can you email us at help {at} vivaty.com so our QA folks can troubleshoot with you further? If we do find a common solution, I'll post here for others.

Inappropriate?Hiya, I had the problem when I first installed the player, reinistalling it fixed it. Am now having the same problem again a couple of days later :( . Is there something I am missing or have done wrong? Thanks, Justin
-
Inappropriate?Same problem here.
I've just installed XP, Service Pack 2 and IE7 to test out Vivaty Scenes and I get an error after installation of the player when it tries to load a scene - "Error creating device: D3DERR_INVALIDCALL"
I've tried re-installing the player but I get this error every time I load an X3D scene and it crashes IE7.
My emails to help at vivaty.com are not getting through either:
500 Internal Server Error
"|/usr/local/rt3/bin/rt-mailgate --queue Beta-Users --action correspond --url http://rtapp1.mediamachines.com/"... Deferred: prog mailer (/usr/sbin/smrsh) exited with EX_TEMPFAIL
Warning: message still undelivered after 4 hours
Will keep trying until message is 5 days old -
