Fusion not installed, yet still gives option to open files with Windows programs.
I do not currently have VMware Fusion installed on my macbook (I recently reformatted and reinstalled everything), yet for some reason my mp3 files are listing "Windows Media Player - Windows XP Professional" as an option under "Open with". Obviously clicking on this gives me an error since Fusion isn't installed, but I'd like to know how the option got there in the first place.

Inappropriate? The helper applications are probably still registering themselves as being able to open the MP3 filetype. Check in ~/Documents/Virtual Machines to see if you still have any VMs on your computer. If you do, right-click on them, and select "Show Package Contents". Inside, look for a folder called "Applications" this folder should contain all the helper applications that are generated to register file types. If you are no longer using the VM, just delete the helper applications.
