Adding software Categories

Image sharing web apps, for example. Add-ons for apps (such as one I'm using, iTunesKeys, it's not really an app all to itself, it assists me in using iTunes when it's turned on, sorta like an add-on. Uhm, I thought of more earlier but I can't remember.

Like little simple nifty tools. Calculator for example.
And I know some of these are in the list, sorry xD I just didn't bother checking what's already on there.

I just uploaded data and an icon for SQLyog. No category for it: it's database management and administration.

I don't think categories need to be very fine-grained (e.g., just use "content management system" instead of the more specific "wiki"), but there is not anything for databases yet.

Here's another: "image management" - this could be either local (with a program like Picasa or IMatch) or remote (with a tool to organize galleries and upload photos for SmugMug).

There is now "Audio & Video - Management" but "images" is missing there. (Don't make this "photos": other graphics would fall under image management as well.)

also there needs to be way more web-oriented stuff. For example, Wikipedia is not really a "social network", it's more of an information library/resource.

Virtualization/emulation (would cover things like DOSEMU, Dosbox, VICE, etc.)

--> You can't just file all these quite extremely diversified kinds of software simply among: System Tools.. ;)

A sidenote: Any software having anything to do with - Flash - is, at the moment categorized into like, 30 different sections. You see, there's a huge disorientation here.. :)

Hope to have been able to give you some input, I just found myself looking for these categories again and again, during the last months.. Glad you finally added "syncing" and the like, at least. And hope you don't stop! :)
