So maybe I'm paranoid.
Hi,
I had a good conversation about your website via Twitter today,
and I wanted to know if any of these items were valid issues,
I should be aware of while using your service?
I did my best to read your privacy/terms,
But..
Is any one using Wakoopa? Time Tracking for your Applications! Been waiting for a site like this. add me: http://wakoopa.com/DevLano
@DevLano I use wakoopa... but be mindful it monitors processes heavily and can do a bit more snooping than most would want.
I was definitely that way towards it at first. Im interested to know how/why certain websites show up. tracking my history?
@DevLano yeah, they track your history... as you make requests it passed the DNS info off to wakoopa
@DevLano I do not trust passive monitoring systems that are not local.
@DevLano The biggest issue is that if information is traveling between 2 point unencrypted then I can monitor that traffic.
@DevLano if i can monitor that traffic then it is fair to say that that data can be used to find 0 day exploits on my system...
@DevLano and you can see where this is going right?
@DevLano or worse still U can just monitor the IP of the wakoopa systems & find someone whos data stream shows they R using vulnerable apps
@DevLano track the client packet back to its source and hit that machine... so yeah, I will not run wakoopa anymore.
Just some general opinions about what was said,
or some straight facts would be great.
Thanks.
:D

Inappropriate? It is indeed possible for people to monitor the data sent between your computer to the Wakoopa server. However, this applies to many other applications as well, including web browsers. If you're worried about this, then Wakoopa is probably not for you.
I’m thankful

Inappropriate?Yeah, I had that opinion as well, if its not ssl then its prolly clear text, scanable, good stuff, that most apps do as well.
I'll prolly still use this service, being an independent, and having a massive list of tools that I use, and an actual time read out of how often I use them, is a good selling point. not just "yes I use this tool" on a resume.
Thanks for your time.
:D
I’m amused
