GE microwaves and Walmart
Anyway about a month ago we bought a GE 1.1cf Microwave it worked only for 5 weeks, we took it back to walmart and they refunded the purchase price which was not enough to replace the microwave being the price went up at their store. so we went ahead and bought the exact same make and model thinking it was just a flute, but the 2nd microwave filed within one day. We will be returning it to Walmart, this time we will buy a replacement of a different make.
so our problem is two fold, first the GE microwave, having 2 failures in less than 6 weeks, and 2nd that Walmart refunded the money instead of allowing us a replacement at the same price

Inappropriate?Could that individual at the service desk have been incapable of handling the price discrepancy?

Inappropriate?I don't know what her problem was, but she did not want to be bothered by us, she just kept saying that I will refund your money and you can be on your merry way, besides that we have been using microwave for more than 30 years and most held up for 5 to 10 years, but since we bought this GE model we have had 2 within 5 weeks, each failed, so that is also a major problem.

Inappropriate? When people come into walmart to "exchange" something and they have the receipt, they are usually given the money so they can go get another one and not have to hassel with coming back to the customer service desk. Perhaps the cashier was not clear that you wanted an EVEN EXCHANGE. If that's the case, you should have made that clear or talked to a mgr if she wasn't "capable" or "didn't want to be bothered". Either way I see this as your inability to effectively communicate what you wanted.
By the way...isn't GE doing business with Iran? They say that they're only fulfilling old contracts. That's lawyer talk for yes, we're still doing business in Iran. They're trying to say that they're not going to take up any new contracts, but lawyers know how to finesse that. The fact of the matter is they are defying U.S. sanctions by going around with a loophole, doing business with their foreign subsidiaries in countries like Syria and Iran.
What really disturbs me about Syria is that we know that 90 percent of the foreign fighters who have come through the Syrian border, who have showed up in Iraq to detonate suicide bombs, IEDs, killing and maiming our troops.
I don't buy anything GE anymore. -
Inappropriate?Wouldn't even worry about GE and business with IRAN.. They are Running the US now, proudly sponsoring the POTUS.. Congratulations on the "change" America.. That's about all our dollar is worth anymore..
I’m laughing at the President OTUS

Inappropriate? If you take the receipt back from the CSR and say "I'd like to exchange this broken item for an identical item and I do not have the receipt available to you" then they will exchange it sans receipt if you have some valid ID. They will credit you the lowest price that the exact item has sold for at that store in the last x days. "x" is probably 30, but I don't know for sure.
Same with Home Depot- if you have the receipt they will refund the cost to the card you bought it with "within 5 business days" but if you do not have the receipt they will give you store credit that you can use right then. (Which is fine if you're doing a straight exchange or an upgrade.)
FYI, it may have been a "fluke", but a microwave is never a "flute".
