I recently had a merchant debit my account several times.None of the debits were authorized.I contacted Wamu about the issue. They reversed all of the debits plus the overdraft charges besides one.I contacted them again letting them know that i still had a overdraft charge on my account that should have been reversed.I was told they can not reverse that charge because the merchant caused the charge,that I would have to take that up with the merchant.I have never heard of such.You reverse all of the other overdraft charges clearly but I am supposed to eat the other charge or contact a merchant that in the first place illegally debited my account for a overdraft fee that should have been reversed with the rest of the charges and overdrafts from the same merchant.I let them know that I would be closing my accounts after this situation,the person on the other end simply said well have a nice day and hung up the phone. Is this the image you want to set dealing with debit cards,home loans,credit cards etc...? I will never do business with this institution again,and will be sure to let my colleagues know of the experience I had.
