I am interested in how to import Wesabe downloaded transactions into Quicken. I do not see QFX as an option in the export function. Thank you.

Inappropriate?Hey, @mlnewhouse,
We do provide OFX/1 and OFX/2 exports. You're right that Quicken has an OFX variation called QFX which it requires for import. QFX is almost exactly the same as OFX/1. So, if you go to any Wesabe account page, choose "OFX" from the export menu, you'll get *almost* what you want.
The only substantial difference between OFX and QFX is that QFX includes a code identifying which bank the file came from. As I understand it, Intuit (makers of Quicken) require that banks pay them a fee in order to have the right to include that code -- and Quicken will not import data from a bank unless that fee is paid.
I hadn't actually thought about this before, but I suppose we could export a QFX file that includes that code if your bank has already paid Intuit. The bank has paid the fee, and you are getting the data from the bank -- even if you are running it through Wesabe before importing it -- so I suppose that would be fair under the system Intuit has established. (That would only work for banks which have paid Intuit the fee, though.)
Let me know what you think about this. I'll also note that, while I don't endorse this approach, a number of Quicken users have encountered this problem before, and one of them posted about a workaround for it:
http://www.digital501.com/2006022124/...
That workaround probably will solve your problem, although to me it expresses more the frustration users have with Intuit's approach. It seems to me that their approach leaves its users frustrated due to conflicts between Intuit and the banks, and that that is very unfortunate for everyone involved.
I hope this helps.

Inappropriate? All of my banks do pay the fee. I would love it if you could offer QFX files for download for those banks that have paid already. I like the concept of your site very much, but want to continue using Quicken at least for a while longer, as I have a number of manual accounts that I have created to track personal accounts as well as some consulting work. (I transfer business expenses from credit cards, etc, and track payments received in these internal accounts in Quicken Home & Business.) If you could solve the Quicken download dilemma in a simple fashion, it would be fantastic. BTW, your workaround seems to be for Macs; I use Windows. I prefer not to get into complicated extra steps if I don't have to!
Thanks. -
Inappropriate?Hey, @mlnewhouse,
Understood. Could I ask you to email me the list of banks that you're interested in? That way I can update those first. You can email me at marc at wesabe.com. (If you'd rather not email me, let me know here and we'll figure something else out -- I was just hoping to keep you from having to post your banks in a public forum.)
Thanks.
I’m glad a solution is in the offing
