Is WD's "Extended Warranty" worth it?
I know it's only $24 + tax for ~720 days or about 2 years. BUT is it really worth it? have you ever bought an extended warranty for a WD hard disk before? and If something went wrong did you get your HD replaced or fixed?
I personally have never had any problems with WD hard disks, so I am trying to find a reason why I would need to expand my warranty beyond the 1 year included. Anybody would like to share their experience?

Inappropriate? In my experience, I've never needed to purchase an extended warranty for any electronics. It's just another way for them to get money from you. I've had a WD HD for about 5 months and it works great. Never had a problem with it.

Inappropriate?Thank you, I just got a WD SATA 1TB Hard disk for $99. That was much better than spending $24-$26 on the warranty alone. My other WD 500GB "My Book" edition disk is doing fine after 1.6 years of heavy use (I had to save it once from a system header file corruption. but other than that it works well)
