Difficult Butcher at the San Ramon, CA store
For the past two weekends the butcher at your San Ramon, CA store has refused to grind up organic chicken meat for me, when I requested. He said that he did not have the time to do so and that there was ground chicken meat already available. The problem is that they were not organic, and the whole point of my coming to Whole Foods is so I may buy high quality organic meat and get good customer service. I have been a Whole Foods shopper for 6 years, and the butcher has never refused to grind organic chicken meat. What should do if this were to happen again? Thank you for your help.

Inappropriate?Hi Jimmy,
I am sorry for your frustration. Because of the USDA organic standards, we have to thoroughly clean our machinery between grinding non-organic and organic meats. It's an involved process and something that takes a bit of time. To avoid this situation in the future we suggest that you call ahead and place a special order so our butcher can set aside the organic ground chicken when you need it.
Thanks!
