Prices are going up? Why?
I purchased some "Nancy's Lowfat Plain Yogurt" at your store in Scottsdale this morning. To my astonishment, you had INCREASED your price!
News flash, Whole Foods managers:
Yogurt and Milk prices have decreased elsewhere, not gone up.
This yogurt was $2.79 in January at your stores, which was already a suspiciously high markup. Now it is $3.39?
That's Wrong.
Whole Foods, please don't let a couple greedy sales managers ruin your company's good image and price themselves out of existence like scores of other now infamously-extinct ex-gourmet retailers have done.
Heed my advise: Price your food competitively, and you will thrive, because otherwise your stores are a pleasant experience.

Inappropriate?Hi KBW,
Thanks for bringing your concerns to our attention. We do our best to keep our prices competitive. Our regional coordinators do a great deal of comparison shopping and industry research to ensure that we are offering competitive prices. I am bringing your concerns to the attention of our Southern Pacific regional office so they can look into why the price of this product may have gone up.
Thanks again for letting us know about this. We're glad to hear that otherwise, you enjoy our stores.
Best,
Rachael

That's wonderful, thank you! This truly is an enigma, because along with milk prices, transportation and packaging costs have also decreased (as gas prices have plummeted), as well as commercial property values (especially here in Phoenix, so it is very unlikely the lease at your Scottsdale store went up since January). I think we can even rule out the cost of labor, as it has remained nearly stagnant! But I'm not in retail -- maybe there is something I'm missing. -
