How do I add the history of a page in the main article?

I need to have, for some pages, their history displayed in the main article, in the form of a table or a list (Don't ask - beaurocracy). Optimally I would like the last 10 updates to be displayed somehow.

I tried putting the history link in the form of a template (long shot, I know) it did not work.

Is there any way to achieve that?

A good place for MediaWiki support?

As a regular on #mediawiki, the MediaWiki help channel on freenode, and on mediawiki.org, I think this may be a good place to offer help with mediawiki, too. While splitting information all over the place isn't such a good idea, I'm under the impression that between help pages on mediawiki.org, bugzilla.wikimedia.org and mwusers.com information is already spread, and none of these places are working too well.

Having just discovered Get Satisfaction through soup.io, I'm quite impressed by the nice interface. And I found the Wikimednai Foundation as a "Company", but not MediaWiki as a Product. So, here's to changing that. What di you think?
