How do I use WordPress as a platform (portal?) (framework) that extensively uses Web 2.0 tools like youtube, flicker, GoogleCalendar?
I have fallen deeply in love with WordPress and am an ardent fan of many Web 2.0 tools. The idea I have is to create web sites for not-for-profit entities using WordPress as my platform (framework?). Then, I would embed applications like youtube, flickr, 30boxes, googledocs, into various pages on the site with the idea of then getting several volunteers to be "page masters" -- one for the calendar; one for the photo gallery; one for the videos; one for "docs". Does this make sense to you? Can you point me to sites that are already using this concept?

Inappropriate?I guess you could do this with a front page as a portal, but it wouldn't necessarily be a WordPress front page. Pages can be written inside the domain using WordPress for the applications you mentioned.
It sounds like you want a community vs. a blog. Have you looked into forum boards?
