how i can uninstall wuala...??i have installed in the pc of my girlfriend but now she d ont want anymore..
i can t found any uninstaller,and also with the vista uninstaller wuala is not present.....hilfeeeee

nsHelperAppDlg.js keeps popping up every now and then (but ad's are gone for good since last night.)



I guess they turned off ads completely until the problem is fixed. I have them activated (although "pro" user) and they don't show at all anymore since update to V97 last night. Instead I keep getting the following message every now and then.
(FF3.0.1,WinXPSP2,wualaV97)

I recently watched the Google Tech Talk again and stumbled upon something that made me think a bit:

My current setup:
- 1 "Server" (low voltage CPU, for Wuala, Printer...) - shares storage (quite much - when do we get more than 100 GB again? :-P )
- 1 "Workstation", sometimes I use Wuala there too to upload something or to download a few files - not sharing storage
- 1 "Laptop", also not sharing space (not online long enough) but also used for downloading

According to the Tech Talk it won't help me anything to share storage other than getting more GB availabe space, even though my Server now nearly constantly uploads ~20-30 kB/s (quite a bit saved on your traffic side) and should get better download speeds because of this.
However, I can't use that speed, since I can only connect to Wuala with a different machine and access files (the "Workstation" or the "Laptop") who are not contributing anything and thus probably have a quite bad "reputation" in Wuala.

I would access the integrated filesystem on the "Server" and stream the files over the network - but at least with Windows, this is not a trivial task to do (I haven't much looked into it, but it seems quite tricky to do...).
Don't get me wrong, the download speeds are not bad on the other computers (they seem to go up and down a bit, but they nearly always get to the Max. quite fast) but maybe this might become a concern in the future.

What do you guys think? Paranoia or design flaw or error on my side (bad setup)?

File system integration is a great feature. It allows to directly access and stream large files before they are completely downloaded and is the basis of the planned write access. Unfortunately, it is hard to make it work reliably on Windows. Often, it takes one or two minutes until Windows can connect to the Wuala drive. The latest update brings some improvements and compatibility with 64-Bit systems (read below on how I could made it work on my 64-Bit Vista SP1). I'll link from the Wuala settings directly to this article so this is the right place to discuss issues and tricks on how to make it work.

Ich setze eine Synology (www.synology.ch) bei mir zu Hause ein, welche im Prinizip ja den Server für mein Heimnetzwerk macht.
Nun wäre das absolut genial, wenn ich Wuala auf der Synology laufen lassen könnte, denn dort könnte ich 24h/7 Tage Speicher zur Verfügung stellen.
Weiss jemand ob das geht?

I was wondering why you guys didn't decide to go open source. Don't you think it would be an even better contribution to the community?

It doesn't make sense that if a folder (ex. video) is public, all subfolders must also be public! In your computer you can have a directory available for all, with a subfolder available only for you, or for a group. The opposite is of course not-sense, nobody need a closed folder with a public subfolder... :-))

Mein Rechner gibt als möglichen Speicherort für Dateien "W:Wuala...." an. Beim Eingeben eines Dateinamens bekomme ich den Hinweis, dies sei kein gültiger Name.

With one of the last releases, we have completely rebuilt the group feature. You can now post files directly into groups, add members and set roles and permissions.

If you haven't done that yet, we really encourage you to check it out. Also, if you have created a group a long time ago, at a time when only links were allowed, it might be a good idea to delete the content or the whole group and start anew.

If you have troubles deleting old groups, contact us and we will help you.

ich hätte noch ein paar Fragen die ich nicht in den FAQ finden konnte:

1) Wird es möglich sein "nur Festplattenplatz" anzubieten ? Man kann ja nun auch zusätzlichen Platz kaufen, ergo wäre es ja möglich, das die einen User nur anbieten, wärend andere nur kaufen wollen.

Es gibt sicherlich unzählig viele User die einen Rechner / Server 24/7 betreiben und dort gut und gerne einige GB dauerhaft zur Verfügung stellen könnten, ohne selbst etwas in Anspruch nehmen zu wollen. Solche Server Betreiber würden sicherlich mit dem bereitstellen von ungenutzen Resourcen für kleines Geld sehr zur Stabilität des Netzwerkes beitragen.

2) Gibt es in dem Kreditsystem sowas wie ein Einstufungssystem von Usern bzgl deren Verfügbarkeit. So wäre ein Worstcase Szenario, das man einzelne Fragmente z.B. nur auf Servern liegen deren Verfügbarkeit < 60 % liegt. Es wäre glaub ich für User wichtig zu wissen, wie wahrscheinlich es ist, das ihre Files pltözlich ncihtmehr komplett verfügbar sind.

3) Beobachtet Wua.la die Files die schon gesichert wurden und läd bei Bedarf neue Fragmente ins Netz hoch ?

4) Kann man die Bandbreite die Wua.la nutzt in beide richtungen begrezen und werden viele Connections aufgebaut, oder eher wenigere ? Da teilweise Netzwerke wie Kad nicht nur durch ihren Overhead die Nutzbarkeit von Internetverbindungen erheblich einschränken.

5) Kann mir jemand einen "invitation" key schicken ?

I have experienced corrupted files twice already when uploading/downloading "big" archives (>1GB).
I'm not sure but I think Wuala should do checksumming on the application layer when distributing and collecting chunks of a file - if they don't do it already. There seems to be a problem. The two times that I had corrupted files happened with *.tar.bz2 archives that I uploaded from home, downloaded in the office and then realized I can't extract it anymore! Crap :P Has anyone else experienced problems like this?

why i can invite only 15 friends ,what i must to do for have more?

how do I cancel invites so that I can be more specific in who I invite, I just invited all my facebook friends and they are not responding I want to reset my invites???
