I have serveral computers on my network that run wuala. So If I Ctrl-D something on one client and I moved to a different computer while it was downloading and would like to have the file on this other computer I don't want it to be downloaded from the internet again but rather from the other computer where the file is already present, at a substantially higher speed. This is for a scenario where several clients run under the same user, not sure if it makes a difference if the clients run under different users...
Generally speaking, wuala clients on the same network coulb build a micro-network and serve requests internally, if a piece is not found, resort to downloading from the big network on the internet.
The nicest thing about wuala for me, apart from file availability and encryption, is the network drive option for Windows computers. This is because it is transparent to the user and requires no additional steps to work with files, you simply manipulate the files as if they were on a local drive. In a business environment this would be great because the user needs no additional training to use the program.
What I would like to see is a version of the client for mobile business users with the following features:
-Disable 'world' access so that business documents cannot be shared with the outside world
-Enhanced sharing permissions and access control
-Better Windows x64 network drive integration and Linux FUSE support
-Sync to local 'master copy' of files, on company intranet server.
I think businesses would gladly pay for such a version because of small infrastructure & training costs.
I'm sharing drive space and have 3.4GB of locally stored data and an uptime of 29% and i'm sharing 20GB of storage. I'm trying to upload a folder containing 4.5GB of images. Wuala starts to upload and seems to be working fine, but after like 5 to 10 minutes Wuala just dies. I dont get an error message or anything, I just place the mouse over the task-bar icon and it dissapears. Any ides?

Athlon XP 1.2Ghz
1.5GB ram
headless file/backup server (ya ya an Athlon Xp) runs great, weeks of uptime
Wireless Lan connection to router then out to Wuala
Getting this error, and the version before worked fine:

follow wuala install instructions for linux, then when starting the client, do:
./wualacmd
(wuala starts, updates to current revision)
./wualacmd help
(wuala connects to running instance which displays help output)
./wualacmd login username password
(ofcourse use real user name and real password)
(Does just return to command line)
ps auwxf
(shows 2 java processes with wuala, one with the login command line, one without)
this state doesn't change for several minutes unless TERM signal sent to java process.
if wuala is not terminated every other command results in "socket already in use"

iTunes changed a file, Wuala displayed a dialog saying it failed to upload that change and now file is lost because it was supposedly never completely uploaded. The dialog stated the file was not in /tmp but I certainly didn't remove it.
This isn't the first time this has happened to me and it certainly wouldn't be a problem if I was allowed to mount readonly. (I'm on OSX 10.5.4)
I'm really starting to not like your product because of this continuing problem. I'm sure iTunes is doing something weird but you should certainly handle it.
Is it ok+secure to store files like CD backups online in a private folder?
I don't want mail from some filesharing headhunters just because the MD5 of my CD image matches the original (because it IS the original...)
Same goes for MP3 files ripped from my CDs.
I guess the real question is: Can ANYONE (for example Wua.la admins) access files in a private folder/group who is not invited to do so?
Is this prevented by design (encryption) or could the devs be forced to code something that allows access to any file?
I have my wuala PC running all day long. My Internet connection is capable of earning storage, and my Online-Time Indicator is at 17%. But the earned storage is not available to my account, so I cannot use it. So when will earned storage be made availbe?
tried to disable trade options, so that i can enable them back to reset the earned storage (my earn storage is not showing correctly. earned 1.5GB back status is showing 2GB only)
however
"Could not save trade options. Reason: java.io.IOException: java.lang.NegativeArraySizeException

some while back i inserted an openoffice file into the wuala datastore.
somewhen later i edited the file with openoffice. then saved it inside openoffice. the file in the wuala data store has the new content and changes. but the timestamp in the wuala gui (win32) still shows the original filedates and timestamps for both inserted and last modified.
Ursache: Element never existed"
I used to trade storage until I formatted my hard drive. After that I didn't enable 'trade storage' anymore. However, wuala still thinks that I have a computer sharing space (my earned storage is currently 20MB, slowly decreasing).
So, I am a Pro user by having 20 MB of earned storage with a 'ghost' computer. Is this supposed to happen? Doesn't trading get deactivated if it goes below a certain limit?
