download manager and prioritize downloads
As the amount of data requested can make a long list in a few moments there should be a new tab next to the actions icon.
Instead of showing popup windows for a "Save as" action, it could simply add a download to a queue.
By drag'n'dropping queue items to the same "level" as an existing queue item, it sould download both at same time.
I can provide a schema to exemplify my idea... -

Information that could be shown in the main window.
In the bottom of the main Wuala window there could be a couple more informations that users always like:
- Data used in local disk (traded space) - along with the used space;
- Uploaded total and downloaded total in a stats icon/button or on mouseOver the current upload/download speed. -

Tab for files ever downloaded
It would be great to habe a tab in Wuala that lists the files downloaded from anywhere (meaning the world tab) so it isn't necessary to look the files up by hisself.

Wuala nearly unusable with certain themes Last reply on June 30, 2008 08:41.
I'm using Gnome and switched my theme today. After that, Wuala was nearly unusable since some Buttons and Labels where not visible any more (same color as the background).
As far as I know, wuala is coded mostly in Java which provides basic theming functionality. It would be helpful, if wuala would use this possibility to integrate better into different Desktops (Windows, KDE, Gnome).
But of course it's not *that* important right now ;) So thanks for your great work!

Group Postings

Messaging in Wuala Last reply on June 23, 2008 01:10.
Maybe I didn't find it yet but a private-message option in wuala would be nice.
Then you could chat or mail about the files you share (or just have a talk).

More control over notifications, please! Last reply on June 26, 2008 16:51.
It would be great if we could turn on/off the notifications for group events (e.g. "new comments in my groups") for each group separately.
I really like the feature, but since we're all member of the Wuala group, it's getting a bit annoying to be notified for all those comments in that group.

navigations in wuala gui - make it similar to browsers (shortcuts/hotkeys) Last reply on June 25, 2008 09:50.
i wonder if wuala could make the navigation inside the wuala gui, that actually resembles somewhat a webbrowser like ffx/ie/op regarding the shortcuts/hotkeys/mousebuttons.
on my mouse for example i have additional keys, one of them the mousedriver triggers the page back/page forward of the browser inside the browser history.
as the wuala gui also features a path of elements along which you have been browsing and you can actually go back and forth with the > and < back / next buttons in the wuala gui, it would be great if wuala could make use of these additional buttons and such of mice and so on.
i dont know exactly the standard or the commands in what way a mousedriver / input device does interact with web-browsers for example
inside the firefox menus, it says in the history menu, that alt+leftarror and alt+rightarrow navigate along the path accordingly. so maybe a mousedriver sends these key-shortcuts if they happen to be standardized.
ie7 on win32 says so too for forward/backward it seems. so maybe this is some convention among webbrowser developers that has been created.
this is just an example for the most obvious navigation. there used to be "backspace" for backwards / lastpage inside browsers too, and many other nifty commands.
would be gr8 if wuala could add some of these most frequently used things.
cheers and thanks for listening. -

upload traffic measurement for traded storage Last reply on June 16, 2008 15:22.
Hi
A nice feature would be to see how much data has been uploaded with the "Trade Storage" feature. (In addition to the Locally Stored Data counter)
(or mabye a plugin interface so you write such stuff yourself)
Thanks

Cancelled/expired invitation updates invite count Last reply on June 10, 2008 08:35.
It might be an idea to let invitation codes reset after a month or so, if not used by the invitee.
Or at least make it possible to manually cancel an invite, with an update of the invite counter.
That way you can re-use your invites when people decide to not register in the end.
Before I knew this wasn't the case, I cancelled some invites so I'm still left w/h any invitations... -

Allow users to share space on multiple partitions/HDDs Last reply on June 11, 2008 06:08.
Hi People,
I am running multiple PCs at home each with at least 2 HDDs. 1 of the HDDs is meant as a backup for 'more important' files or simply to add more storage. Now my problem is that Wuala can only use space on one partition. This means that I cannot share all the space that I don't need simply because I cannot divide it.
I would love to see an option which allows me to share Folders on different partitions and set a seperate sharing-limit on each of them.
I hope that this is possible and feasible for you to integrate since it would help me a lot!
Thanks,
Darkstriker

Improve the Back and Forward buttons by supporting the Keyboard Shortcuts Last reply on June 03, 2008 07:53.
On windows (I can't comment on other operating systems) we have the special Browser Back and Browser Forward keys which are supported by web browsers and windows explorer. Often, the extra buttons on a mouse are mapped to these keys. Adding support for these keys would seem to be trival, but would dramatically increase ease of use for people that are used to using the keys. Hope you can include this feature. Thanks. -

wuala mobile client Last reply on June 19, 2008 00:16.
I would like to access my online-stored files with my mobile phone on the way. Therefore I would become realy happy if you could provide a client for Java midlet or (in my case) for Symbian Series60 3rd edition. Anyway - what do you think - is there a possibility to realize this for us?

wuala commandline (linux, *nix (macosx)) improvements (history) Last reply on June 10, 2008 05:46.
hi there,
would be great if the wuala commandline would be more comfortable like command-completion, command-history and all these little features that come with todays normal commandline shells like bash, and so on....
also, maybe its possible to create a wuala core (worker) thread/process to which the wuala commandline client (control interface) could connect. therefore the restart on update and all this stuff would be much easier.
i think the amule project works similar to that, that they created a worker daemon and the commandline control utility simply transfers commands/statusmessages and queries the actual working core/daemon.
there is also an amule webinterface wich is only a frontend to the actual working daemon in the background.
this way there could be several frontends like the current gui stuff on varying os systems and the backend being universal. all this could be realized in java i guess and could be less platform dependant during development and so on.
thanks and cheers. -

Bandwidth scheduler; feature request Last reply on May 26, 2008 08:03.
My ISP differentiates between 'peak' and 'offpeak' times - to conserve bandwidth I'd only like to be able to 'trade local storage' between midnight and noon. I'm happy to upload always.
Can I recommend you add a bandwidth scheduler? -

Constantly sharing a Folder Last reply on May 21, 2008 21:02.
It would be really really great, if i can share a folder to a group.. okay thats possible.
but if i change something, like adding a subfolder, i have to share the folder again so the subfolder may be seen in the groups folder. Maybe you might add a feature like "share this folder to a group / share this folder with a group constantly (means also when subfolders change or new subfolders and files added)"
That would be awesome. -

feature request: auto-expand folder tree Last reply on May 21, 2008 12:29.
Hi everyone!
I would like the folder tree to expand automatically when I drag a file from Windows into Wuala. Now you either have to open the target subfolder first, or drop the file into some other folder. As you know in most file managers you can "climb" the folder tree down.
Hope this is possible!
Best regards

Option for Pre-Allocation of Shared Storage Last reply on May 14, 2008 21:23.
It would be nice to be able to pre allocate shared storage space, to avoid file system fragmentation. Even if this method allocated large blocks of space, like 1 gb at a time, it would still reduce the fragmentation.
