Bug in Online Zeit

"Could not download XYZ" even when uploaded fully from other PC Last reply on May 22, 2008 16:38.
I'm getting this error with one of the files of a directory I put into Wuala last night. All files from the same directory uploaded correctly (According to the Wuala client on that PC). All Files are basically of the same type (avi videos, around 300 Megs).
The above message instantly pops up when trying to download the entire folder. The other files can all be downloaded successfully.

nfs-Volume unter OSX ist buggy bei Umlauten Last reply on May 22, 2008 15:34.

huge security risk: loads of files in %temp%\wuala\ lately - (original unencrypted files in there) Last reply on May 21, 2008 11:41.
hi there,
during my recent upload tests via filesystem integration method (see other thread http://getsatisfaction.com/wuala/topi... ) i somewhen realized that there are hugeloads of files in %temp%\wuala\ which wasnt the case in former builds of wuala.
there are also two directories in there (download and upload)
in the actual %temp%\wuala\ folder there seem to be a very big number of "original" files which i was trying to upload into the wuala store it seems.
the filenames have been changed somewhat to
hexnumber-originalfilename.extension
example:
f3edab22-mypicture.jpg
(hexnumber is maybe some hash/crc/crc32 or something)
the files are unencrypted, so i can actually use them with the appropriate application as they all hold the actual data (pictures, and so on....)
is this some bug? anyway related to my other thread? i suppose this is a huge security risk as even with reboots, wuala clients shutdown/restart these folders dont seem to go away or dont get empied nor cleaned up and the files can be seen by "anybody" who has access to the physical machine.
this is really weird. anyone else having this behaviour? win32/winxp that is. wuala426 -

Average Online Time updates only after saving options Last reply on May 20, 2008 14:09.
Under "Trade Storage" in the Options window, the average online time is not not updated until you save the options. This means to check your average online time you need to open the options windows, save the options (which closes the window), and open the window a second time. It was also extremely confusing as a new user because I never saw my online time increasing, which made me frustrated because I thought I'd never hit the 17% needed to share storage.

Linux Connection shuts down after a minute Last reply on May 17, 2008 08:24.
Since I have updated to alpha v.105 (Linux) I am having problems with my connection. It is o.k. for about a minute and then the status turns to yellow and shortly afterwards to red. After a few minutes I get a good connection again, but then it shuts down again and the whole procedure repeats itself. While the connection is down I can't even ping my wlan-router. After shutting down wuala, it takes about a minute and then I can ping my wlan-router again. I have already turned off the file system integration, but that doesn't do any good. -

inviting friends with skype error - message "null" sent Last reply on May 13, 2008 11:23.
today i sent invites out with skype, but as the skype windows opened there was only the message "null" sent - maybe the update wuala installed today did nothing good to skype inviting...
however i could recover the invites under the friends page by opening an invited friend, read the message that should have been sent and resend them manually.
but still it's much more comfortable to let wuala do the work ;) -

May 5 Update Killed Uploads Last reply on May 09, 2008 15:56.
After the May 5 Update (419), all outstanding uploads vanished. This happened on Windows Vista x64 and Windows XP x86.
Vista seems to be slowly doing maintenance. XP has no activity. -

Files corrupted by iTunes? Last reply on May 09, 2008 15:01.
I noticed that random mp3 files will not play. I opened the wuala gui and found that these files are now only 1k in length. I have the files all downloaded to my Windows XP machine and imported into iTunes over the W drive. I opened one of the 1k files in Notepad and found that it only contains the ID3 tag. I suspect at some point that iTunes decided to update the tag and the filesystem rewrote the entire file as opposed to just updating the tag.
Any ideas?
The file is clearly marked as downloaded in the UI so I'm not sure what else I can do. -

wuala survey doesnt allow all countries we live in Last reply on May 09, 2008 12:08.
hah, crazy survey if you cant actually enter the information that you need.
select some country you live in, and you cant continue the survey from page one as apparently some countries are outlawed to take part in the survey.....
i guess thats some antiterrorstrategy or united states export restrictions and censorship and other megalomaniac regulations.
too bad for the wuala users who live in the wrong country.

bug: windows cannot find 'wuala umfrage' - error when clicking link Last reply on May 09, 2008 11:42.
what is "Wuala umfrage" link (ihre meinung zahlt) supposed to do/trigger/start?
i only get a windows dialogbox popup with an error: "wuala umfrage" , "windows cannot find 'wuala umfrage' make sure you type the name correctly and try again. to search for a file click the start button and the click search....."
is this some external trigger, missing/bad url (link) time or something?
all happening with wuala build 422 on win32 (xp). i never realized that there was this umfrage stuff showing in the wuala gui. is this new with todays build?

Wuala won't launch (updater launches, but doesn't work) Last reply on April 02, 2008 15:14.
Hejhej!
My wuala client wont start anymore. The updater starts, but remains at 0% all the time. No error message. I even downloaded the setup package again, but the problem remains.
Anyone knows how to solve this?
Thanks and Greetings!

Wuala/linux doesn't start on update to v101 Last reply on April 29, 2008 16:25.
My wuala doesn't start anymore
I had it running unattended over the weekend and it seems to have choked on the v101 update. Now when I try to start it from the desktop it just does nothing, starting from the console (running "wuala/wuala") just gives me:
Updating to version 101 ............Shutting down...
This is 100% reproducible
on another pc with almost the same setup it starts w/o problems (same gentoo version, intel multicore) -

Oh man, where is my storage space? Last reply on April 29, 2008 13:09.
Last week, I needed to format the hard disk. So, I installed the Wuala again. But, for my surprise, I lost all the extra storage space I had (about 8 Gb) and cannot upload anything.
Can anyone help me with that? -

A Tiny Little Bug Last reply on April 26, 2008 22:25.
I've noticed that after I save my profile changes Wuala sets my birthday back one day. Even if I don't change anything, I just have to click on one of the input fields then click Save and it sets my birthdate back. Nothing big, just kind of odd. =)
