My mother is living in India. I invited her to Wuala. I downloaded the client and installed it. Her system is running Windows Vista Home Premium and her account has administrativ privileges. Java is 1.6. Her Internet connection is about 128kbits fast. Then I started Wuala. It tried to update itself. But Wuala always cancels the update process. I'm not able to start Wuala at all.
My questions are the following. Do I need to disable UAC? Is there a way to manually update Wuala?
most of the times there are quite a number of new builds of wuala for certain platforms, sometimes several new builds daily and there are a lot of days where there isnt any changelog nor releasenotes to be found.
many times only days after the actual updates/patches or only several patches/releases later there is an updated releaselog.
this is a high risk of getting some "updates" for wuala from man-in-the-middle and similar risks.
i wish that the wuala team would really announce their changes immediately, write some official buildnumber/list and maybe even some hashcode, signature or way to make sure that the wuala installation is the official code.
as wuala becomes more widespread and common out there, the probability of suffering attacks and tampered updates/patches becomes more likely.
Wuala stopped working after I just installed the very latest version of Java, JRE 6u6, and crashes right away at startup with a "NoClassDefFoundError".
After the May 5 Update (419), all outstanding uploads vanished. This happened on Windows Vista x64 and Windows XP x86.
Vista seems to be slowly doing maintenance. XP has no activity.
Also... ich sehe keine Äderung..
My wuala client wont start anymore. The updater starts, but remains at 0% all the time. No error message. I even downloaded the setup package again, but the problem remains.
Anyone knows how to solve this?
Thanks and Greetings!
Hi,
If I recall corrently, I have alrealdy once posted this but I'l do it again: I would like to have a feature which automatically updates Wuala without me constantly having to exit and restart wuala (It should probably be optional). This feature would by now save me a great deal of time considering that my server is (after some windows-inflicted downtime) now up for 21 days in a row and I have approximately 10 times had to go there and exit/restart wuala just to check for any updates.
