Currently I am able to trade my local space to create a greater online quota.

I'd love to be able to share my online quota with friends or groups.

For example. I share 10 gig of space. Rather than me getting 7 gig of space to use for my content, I could offer 4 gig to my family group, and 1 gig 3 of my friends

Since Wuala has created this amazing distributed file system, I would like to see, and be apart of, the creation of a service that is constantly on the P2P network and available to download files through. For example, if someone decided to upload an image to Wuala and directly link to it on their web page. Or if someone finds a file they want to share, they can send a direct link to the file so that people can download it from the network, or take the link and embed it on their site.

Another, more technical, example would be, I find an image that I want to put on my web page, http://wua.la/RexM/Images/SLC+Mountai... (for example). There should be a URL I can go to that will access that file directly, without having to open Wuala. So I should be able to access that file by going to:

http://services.wua.la/download/RexM/... (for example)

The service would then download the file I'm trying to view off the network, then display what it downloaded in the screen. (This can be done by setting the Content-type header in the response)

I believe the biggest problem with this would be that the service would be downloading from the P2P network a lot, but maybe wouldn't necessarily be uploading/contributing very much. Let me know what you guys think, I just thought of it today so it's quite possible there's a flaw I'm not considering.

Obviously since anyone could possibly hit the service it's basically anonymous read access, so only files that are public would be able to be viewed through this service.

It would be great if we could turn on/off the notifications for group events (e.g. "new comments in my groups") for each group separately.

I really like the feature, but since we're all member of the Wuala group, it's getting a bit annoying to be notified for all those comments in that group.

It would be nice to be able to pre allocate shared storage space, to avoid file system fragmentation. Even if this method allocated large blocks of space, like 1 gb at a time, it would still reduce the fragmentation.

I would like the folder tree to expand automatically when I drag a file from Windows into Wuala. Now you either have to open the target subfolder first, or drop the file into some other folder. As you know in most file managers you can "climb" the folder tree down.

Hi everyone!

I would like to suggest more options when backing up files with the same name. Now you only have the option to rename the new file, or abort the process. Something like replace, skip, or rename by date might be helpful.

Ich weiß, dass das schon einmal angesprochen wurde. Dennoch möchte ich die Entwickler noch einmal darauf aufmerksam machen, dass ich mir eine Trennung von GUI und Core wünsche. Wie der Core auf dem Server gestartet wird, wäre mir garnicht einmal so wichtig (Daemon oder Screen), momentan mache ich das mit Screen. Mir fehlt nur einfach eine Option in Wuala, die es einem ermöglicht, sich zu einem auf einem anderen System laufenden Core zu verbinden.
Hoffentlich wird das in einer der nächsten Version eingebaut!

ich hätte da eine idee bzw einen Vorschläg. Wäre es nicht möglich ein Programm für Linux zu schreiben mit welchem man Resourcen auf einem Rechner freigeben kann.
Die einstellungsmöglichkeiten sollten für Dateigröße, Uploadgeschwinddigkeit sowie ordnerfreigabe, Portwahl und eine Begrenzung für die Verbindungen wären sehr schön und würden reichen (bei der Ordnerfreigabe müsste es auch möglich sein verschiedene Ordner freizugeben (falls man beispielsweise mehrere Festplatten hat).

Falls es so ein Programm berreits geben sollte sorry ich hab ́s nicht gefunden ;)

clearing the local cache should be done asynchronously, I think... I accidently hit that button and now the gui's been blocked for several minutes already...

I'm using Gnome and switched my theme today. After that, Wuala was nearly unusable since some Buttons and Labels where not visible any more (same color as the background).
As far as I know, wuala is coded mostly in Java which provides basic theming functionality. It would be helpful, if wuala would use this possibility to integrate better into different Desktops (Windows, KDE, Gnome).

But of course it's not *that* important right now ;) So thanks for your great work!
