A few questions
Hi. I've been using Wuala for a week and I have two questions.
- What is the 'Show maintenance' button in the uploads windows for?
- The other question regards local storage. One of the conditions of local storage is that the computer must be online 17% of the day. I can easily do that now but when summer comes (for example) if I want to go on vacations will I loose the right to have local storage enabled? And if so, what happens to my online data when I loose the space I had online?
Thanks and keep up the good work.

Inappropriate?About your first question:
If you push the 'show maintenance' button you see those files (better fragments) which have to be resend again into the storage network to ensure their availability.
Why is this necessary?
In a P2P network you have the problem that some nodes disappear after some time (users closing wuala e.g.). To ensure the availability of your own files every file is fragmented into smaller parts. Each part however is stored on several nodes inside the network to achieve redundancy in case one storage node is leaving the network. Now your client checks from time to time if there are enough fragments or 'copies' in the network. In case there are not enough it has to resend those fragments. In this early stage of wuala there is some kind of server support to ensure availability but if there are more users sharing some harddisk space it might not be necessary to support the wuala network with extra servers.
I do not know an answer to your second question and i am interested in it too :-) -
Inappropriate?Once trading storage is enabled, it doesn't get disabled any more even if you fall below 17%. However, no new fragments will be stored on your computer if your online time is too low. If the amount of earned storage falls below the amount of used storage, you won't be able to store new files and your computer can't do maintenance for existing files. However, we are not sure yet if that's the best way to deal with this.
