access to private folders by foreign persons
A friend who works as computer supporter and whom I had invited to see my public folders surprised me by telling about some details in my private folders. How is that possible?

Inappropriate?Hi Hans,
Could you specify this?
Did your friend see all your files in folders you kept private?
Could it be that you accidentally shared those folders with your friend (red folders)?
Cheers,
Oona -
Hi Oona, to my very knowledge, I just copied the website address of the folder and copied it into an e-mail. I just tried sharing the folder with myself and saw the red appearance for the 1st time. Then I set back to private. I don't know wether he saw all subfolders. -
Hi Hans,
First thing to know: Blue folders are public, red folders are shared, while yellow folders are private. In your case it could also have been that you thought that sub-folders were private. However, subfolders have the same access as parent folders. I'd recommend to start with three folders: One folder is private, one folder is shared and another folder is public. Hence, it's more difficult to accidently share things with the wrong people.
Cheers,

Inappropriate?hello
can you please remove the default blue folder that every user has that signs up? I see many users putting there pictures there before they (or maybe never will) know that everybody can access these files!

Probably a good idea -
I am not a new user. I am software engineer since 1980! I am still concerned. The guy said: it is your problem if you subscribe under your own name! Some interesting files have been viewed 44 times! Could you check who has looked at them and wether it is still possible to access those private folders under 'Documents'. -

Hello Oona, Have you gone for holidays or haven't you got my e-mail? -
Hi Hans,
I received your email and I wrote back to you on July 7.
Best,
Oona -
Got it. Could you check wether I had shared the private folder? Why is the 'view' count already at 1 after just copying? -
The view count already counts when you yourself look at it.
I don't get, which folder I should check - I'm kind of confused here :) The link you sent me, I wasn't able to see your private files there. I think the best way to check is when you enter the URL in the browser and then you can see if it's private or not. However, if you shared a folder with friends directly within Wuala, you wouldn't see that in the browser, but the folder would be red. -
Inappropriate? No, I think how it is now is adequate to most users. Images are mostly public and shared files, while documents are mostly private.

Inappropriate?can somebody clarify this whole issue here? was it a users mistake or whats the truth behind it?
