Backing Up Very Large Files and Maintaining Schedule Backups
I thought my major backup issues were over but Wuala just crashed, in fact over two days it has crashed several times. I'm doing a backup have 602 G's of storage. 120 Gigs in use and remainder is available. I was uploading Aperture backup file, 200 G's to Wuala as a backup. Made sure local cache was set to 400 G's. It started uploading the cache files, got about 2/3rds the way and crashed. Rebooted Wuala it started to upload did that for about an hour and then crashed. Each crash made sure error file was sent up per last instructions. It crashed thoughout the day and repeated same scenario. This morning, it crashed overnight, sent error codes, and then tried again, same results. Removed application support files, local 2 and rebooted. At this moment no backup is occuring, no transfer of files, the scheduled backups are not occurring either. On another system, I'm backing up IPhoto files after about a week its still not done..... Feel like I'm backing up the wrong tree! I do need to back up, my upload capacity is 7Mbts/s. Please help?

Inappropriate?200G (Falls off chair)
On the photo front, many small files can be VERY slow. It is a side effect of the way files are stored.
Can you reproduce the problem again? It is possible there is some bug with large files. -
I've run virus scans the aperture files are pristine no corruption. My immediate needs is my synched files, they are no longer backing up how do I reset the synch so they will backup automatically? Second, need to remove Aperture backup which and restore hard disk space, do I just put in trash and empty? I've done this before and not got all the hard disk space back. Thanks.. -
Inappropriate?aperture is storing a lot of smaller files inside the "app" bundle. It isn ́t _one_ 200GB file, wich will be indeed.. aeh.. critical.
tlatham - thanks for moving the thread to http://forum.wuala.com/viewtopic.php?... ;) -
So, I can do an export of my sessions as a folder and then upload that session for now. But how do I remove the aperture file from my storage and restore 199 Gig of space? Do I just trash it when I do that I don't get the original amount back? -
When you trash the backup in Wuala and empty the trash, you should get your prior space back completely. Randomly (and seldom) there is a problem with the quota at the moment wich could prevent the correction of the space , but this will fixed very soon. It is not very likely that this bug hit you, but I would prepare you if it does. ;)
