Hanging Filesystem integration (Linux)
file system integration is hanging sometimes. The nfs mount is mounted correctly but wuala reports the filesystem integration would not be working and when accessing ~/wuala/direct the system is hanging for about 1 Minute but then goes in and works properly. This is on Linux. Does anyone else have this problem? It's really annoying sometimes especially when you e.g. want to open a file in a web browser or something.
Thanks for getting back on this!

Inappropriate?I'm not sure whether I'm having exactly the same problem, but the filesystem integration does hang an awful lot, and this is probably related, so...
When copying many small files, or one larger file (above ~100MB), to Wuala, it hangs after a while. You can literally see the progress bar stopping in the "Copying files" dialog. Often I'm lucky and it resumes after ~10-30 seconds, but other times the operation is aborted with a complaint about "lstat" failing.
After that, the filesystem integration is broken. I can unmount and remount it, which helps a little, but invariably Wuala will hang again after a short while and has to be restarted.
When shutting down, Wuala then outputs the following messages:
Had to kill thread Thread[Mnt_Mountd,4,main]
Had to kill thread Thread[Mountd_TCP,4,main]
Had to kill thread Thread[Nfs_Nfsd,4,main]
Had to kill thread Thread[NFS_TCP,4,main]
Had to kill thread Thread[process reaper,9,main]
...
...
(Repeated about 10 times)
This sometimes leads to dead files that were'nt uploaded properly. On restart Wuala emits
(deadbeef = random hex string)
Problem: Could not upload file xyz.
Reason: /tmp/WualaTemp/deadbeef-xyz (No such file or directory)
Trying to copy the files there again leads to an error (though not always, I haven't fully figured this out yet).
I'm running Intrepid Ibex, 64bit. -
Sorry, that should be "Retrying to copy the files into Wuala" not "Trying to copy the files there again". I'm not manually putting stuff into the /tmp/ directory... -
Inappropriate?Same Problem. Today I've got also the 526-Error while trying to copy files from local to wuala/direct/...
I’m hoping that this is getting resolved

Inappropriate?I will need to investigate further but I belive I figured out why this is happening, it's because your internet connection is too slow meaning that the nfs can't synchronize the files on time. This should certainly be fixed! I'll post should i know anyting more...
I’m hope that help is being provided by wuala

Inappropriate? No, that cannot be. I have this problem on a Server which is connectet with 10MB/s to the inet.
I tryed the same thing on my notebook (Standard Swiss ADSL). This problems is just happening over the filesystem, if it happens. I've got never a problem over gui. -
Inappropriate?Hm I will need to see how it's behaving on my system now.
I changed isp and had problems getting a good connection going and the nfs mount seemed to drag down my whole system, once i umounted it it came back up and ran just fine. Now yesterday i got the connection going well with my new isp, launch wuala, put the nfs mount back into fstab and it's worked well but even, haven't tested over time yet....i then still have to expect future problems with the nfs i guess.
Thanks for the comment anyways....
I’m I'll see how it's going....

Inappropriate?Hi,
Same here,
I notice it happening during multi files transfert like cp -r or with rsync (note cp doesn't return an error but files missing at end!)
here what I get during a disconection :
ls -l /home/me/wuala/direct/me/Documents/myrep/
ls: cannot access /home/me/wuala/direct/me/Documents/myrep/ : Stale NFS file handle
i retry few times and it works again ...

Inappropriate? The file system integration seems to work much better in the current version (208).
I finally managed to sync all of my local Backup files (~1500, ~1GiB) with what I have stored in Wuala already in one go, without errors or Wuala simply not saving some files.
Thanks, Wuala Team!

Inappropriate? It doesn't seem to be any better for me... Still have the same problem on a regular basis :(
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate? The problem actually seems to be happening more often if I open/edit/save/close files directly from open office writer. Anyone else experiencing problems with that? "Normal" file operation seems to be comparatively stable but it still is crashing now and then....
I’m still umounting & restarting
-
Inappropriate?Hm, I'm not storing files directly in Wuala, I mostly sync them there with unison or rsync.
I guess my "celebration" was a bit premature though -- the problem still crops up after a while, it just takes two or three times as long (as many file accesses?) as before, which seems to mostly suffice for me to sync my files most of the time. -
Inappropriate?I currently get this same problem when copying about 100 files (images) to a wuala direct NFS on the current Beta v255. Not all the images are copied to destination.
cp: accessing '/home/username/wuala/direct/myfiles/images/': Input/Output error
I’m perplexed
-
Inappropriate?it says "The company marked this problem solved." - you may need to open a new thread that refers to this one in order to get any one's attention redirected here!
I’m indifferent
-
Inappropriate?not solved for me.... here the nfs mount hangs recurrently...
-
Inappropriate?I have the same problem, I have the same version 266.
Restarting Wuala may work, restarting the machine may too. -
Inappropriate?I hope they can make nfs integration stable -- this is a really great piece of software.
I’m confident
