Inappropriate?Does anyone know if iPhone has Java on it / Can be put on unlocked iphone?
-
Inappropriate?I think that Java may work on a jailbraked iPhone...

this is one of the best points
-
Inappropriate?Since Apple doesn't want to make Java available I guess that it won't be easy (or even possible?) to run Wuala in there...
-
Inappropriate?I highly doubt an non-jailbreaked iPhone would allow such an application (Bandwidth concerns) and without java it will likely never happen. Maybe if they release protocol information about Wuala someone could write one from scratch?
-
Inappropriate?Java is not on any iPhone.
Maybe someone can code some cocoa touch.
But that can wait till wuala works fine.
Or someone other can code that with the API, if this come somethimes.
-
Inappropriate? The problem is that an API is ultra-low-priority. Finishing Wuala Windows, Mac, Linux, Web is more important to them.
Either they release an API (highly unlikely) or they make the app on their own (unlikely) or... nada.
-
Inappropriate?API is released btw. so if you want to... just start coding! I however doubt that it would work since Java doesn't seem to run on the iPhone.
An Android Version however would be something great one day! -
We need write access in the API. When we have that, we'll see if it's possible to do something... -
read-only access should be possible with the current api, and could be implemented as an iphone app. would that be useful? -
Inappropriate?Java is being ported to the jailbreaked iPhone, though I would not go that way personally.
The app store is nice and having an official app would be cool enough. It could use our API to display public and "secretly" shared files on the iPhone. I also like the idea about sending Files to people.
Such an application would have to be done in Cocoa on the iPhone. It would represent quite a commitment to that platform on the part of Wuala. Maybe someone in the community could take this on? Takers?
You might contact us for getting support & advice...

Unless some of the code is shared as a library, how could someone outside the Wuala team make such a program? -
Just take a look at http://api.wuala.com or at the group inside Wuala: http://www.wuala.com/Wuala%20API You can find there some sample clients in other languages. But like Kaspar said, the API only supports public or password-shared files. It isn't possible yet to access your private area... -
I guess you'll get help to get access to other files/functions as well from the devs if you really develop something like this. -
Inappropriate?I hope someone code it for symbian.
-
Inappropriate?Maybe someone would be motivated to write an app if user are ready to pay for it. I personally would surely pay 5CHF for the app on the iphone. Multiply this by 10'000 Users and the additional benefit the free version of wuala over java would get .... Unfortunately I don't have the skills for doing this.
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Maybe an idea to start with. Using the Safari browser to view files and an mail interface to upload pictures would do it the first place?
