More Statistics - Please
It would be nice if there were more statistics in the program. Ones that I personally would like are:
Estimated time to complete upload of a file(I know upload speeds jump around a lot but maybe if you use the average for the past 10 seconds or something)
Estimated time to complete upload of all files pending
Under file uploads and downloads a time stamp with a date (for maintenance uploads too)
Total amount (MB/GB) people have downloaded from files I share (Separating Global and friends would be nice)
Total amount (MB/GB) people have downloaded from me if I share my hard drive (So if people are accessing my computer for fragments of other people's files I am curious to know total amount of information I have uploaded that is composed of other people's fragments)
feel free to add your own suggestions

Inappropriate?A separate statistics page is a great idea and is definately required in order to gain the trust of more users. Personally, I want to know how my computer is being used.
Possible examples:
-estimated reliability % for each file & folder (how safe is my data?)
-for each file, display how many chunks it's split up into
-# of chunks stored on my local computer
-# of chunks served this month to other users
-average download speed
-average upload speed
-bandwidth used so far this month (upload for myself, upload for serving chunks, down, and combined bandwidth)
-Ping times
-Online % displayed the way Windows Task Manager (displays it for each day for the past month)
-Hard Disk usage statistics (similar to Utorrent). I want to know and be able to adjust the size of the Read & Write Cache. How often is my hard drive being read from or written to?
-# of Open connections (how many people am I downloading from right now?) -
Inappropriate? It would also be cool to see some global statistics, and them graphed over time. Such as:
Total space shared on the Wuala network
Total space used
Total number of fragments stored
Total number of fragments (or data as measured in GB) being uploaded
Total number of fragments (or data as measured in GB) being downloaded
Number of active users
But I understand that these would require extra processing on Wuala's end and personally I am more interested in the information I first posted and some of the ones Determinant posted as well. -
Inappropriate?I clicked the i like this idea button, but i disagree (quite strongly in some cases) on the specifics. The only statistic i need - there are many others that would be nice, but the only one i need - is one that shows how maintained a given file is, and maybe an average for all my files if you can spare the thirty seconds to code that once the first part is done.
-
look into your uploads window once you are logged into your account. the maintenance stuff will appear there. also ctrl+alt+p (trigger check for your private files, see some other days releasenotes document). it will generate some internal check inside your wuala account and eventually triggers (faster) the maintenance elements to show up (if any). -
No it won't. It will show what is being maintained, which may or may not be all of it. Which is irrelevant anyway. What i need is to know how much, in percentage, a specific file is maintained. -
submit a bugreport or featurerequest with the vendor then. -
That would be what this is. -
I agree that this would be a lot more useful than some of my suggestions. Most of mine were more out of curiosity than a need. I like your suggestion but how would you implement it? Do you want it to tell you what percent of the fragments are available right now? Or on average over a 24 hour period?... -
Simple enough. Each file is basically uploaded 5 times, once to their server and 4 times to other users. So if Wuala can find your file 1.2 times among the currently connected users, it would be 30% maintained.
Also a rightclick option to "maintain this file now" would be great to go along with it. Streaming only works with a good download speed after all. -
Inappropriate? No. At the moment it is not planned to add/show more statistics in the client.
