NFS upload from linux client: cannot create file
linux client: built-in NFS server fails with "cannot create file: unknown error 526" when copying a file with 2097197226 bytes to ~/wuala/...
Client version: v119, quota 3GB, fstab entry:
localhost:/wuala /home/[username]/wuala/direct nfs defaults,users,noauto,rsize=8192,wsize=8192,timeo=14,intr,nolock,soft,nfsvers=3,mountvers=3,port=26184,mountport=26183
Double-clicking at the exact same file on the windows (GUI) client I get "The file has not been completely uploaded. Please try again later or contact its owner".
So it's maybe just an issue with user interaction / timeout: the file is requested to be uploaded but that just takes a while, and the OS tries to tell the user that it hasn't arrived yet. Is that the correct interpretation? Could that be fixed / clarified? I took the fstab entry from your FAQ, so don't blame me for the timeout value :-)

Inappropriate?I notice that the file in question is about 2GB large, which is quite a lot. :) Does it work for small files? What Wuala does wenn a file is copied to it, is creating a temporary file (in the system temp folder, normally /tmp/ on Linux), so the copy operation can complete in reasonable time. Then it is uploaded from the temp folder. Did the 2GB file correctly arrive in the temp folder?
One known problem with this approach is that many system clear the temp folder on startup, which might cause the upload to fail. We might need to switch to another folder in future versions. -
Inappropriate?i get now the same error on a debian system with commandline.
Here on my ubuntu it works like a charm but on debian i get error 526 :( is there any solution for that problem so far? -
Inappropriate?I get the same error for some files with rsync between a local fs and the wuala nfs mount. The files are small, but have quite long filenames. What are the filename-restrictions in wuala?
Anyway, using the /tmp directory might be not a good idea. There ist often not that much space there and/or it is placed in a RAM. Why do you not use the wuala directories for that? this is the place where the cached files will end up anyway and it is normally placed in home with sufficient disk space available. -
Inappropriate?Hi, I have de same problem , even with small files.
Notes: I can create a directory but not a file?!
Versions:
* Wuala Linux v282
*Linux localhost 2.6.29.6-desktop586-2mnb #1 SMP Sun Aug 16 22:48:48 EDT 2009 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.53GHz GNU/Linux

hmm. a problem that often comes up again. You get the 526 errors? Did you have that problem permamently? -
Inappropriate?Yes, the 526 error is permanent.
Wuala report filesytem integration is available (all checks show green in Check button from options).
I can upload files from from Wuala program but not from $HOME/wuala/direct.
From $HOME/wuala/direct I always can read all files without problems.
To reproduce problem I try:
- cd $HOME/wuala/direct/myfiles --> OK
- mkdir TestDir --> OK
- cd TestDir --> OK
- echo jjjj > tmpFile.txt --> ERROR
bash: tmpFile.txt: Error desconocido 526 (desconocido = unknown) -
Inappropriate?Background information:
* File /etc/fstab:
localhost:/wuala /home/user/wuala/direct nfs defaults,users,noauto,rsize=8192
,wsize=8192,timeo=60,acregmin=10,noac,intr,nolock,soft
,nfsvers=3,mountvers=3,port=26184,mountport=26183
* File /etc/exports:
/home/chema/wuala/direct
* Wuala start options:
Without "-noportmapregistration"
* services:
nfs-common started.
Thanks in advances.
