Opening linked private files directly (without opening the wuala window)
It would be helpful to use links to non public files which opens this linked files (stored in wuala) without opening the wuala-windows. Could be very useful for reference documents bookmarked in the webbrowser.

Inappropriate? What do you mean? If it doesn't open Wuala's window, then where are the documents shown?
-
Inappropriate?Maybe via Filesystem integration? I'm not sure what you want to accomplish with that function...

Inappropriate?I think he want a light version. You klick the file and a small Applet open and the Download start.

this is one of the best points

Inappropriate?Well, the Wuala client + Webstart already work that way, and you could bookmark files on your W: (or whatever) drive that gets created with filesystem integration if you want them easily accessible without opening the Wuala client...

Inappropriate?Exactly what gado states. Without using the file integration as it is not always available and has the same drive letter. E.g. using a Mac or using a second pc at the office where the port firewall doesn't allow file system integration or using a friends or clients pc with only a temporary login . The file should be accessible as it would be a simple html website through my bookmark list on foxmarks.com (of course I've have to enter the login info once).
Even this login could be simplified by attaching a "password-code" to the url link which authorise the download.
By the way: Well it could be also an idea to incorporate a few viewer (pdf, standard office doc as word excel powerpoint) as in office live but with the execptional covenience use of wuala! But as most of the pc's has all this installed it is only a nice to have
I’m happy

Inappropriate? This is how webstart already works... you just click on "start" and it downloads the client (if necessary), opens the folder and marks the linked file (it doesn't execute it automatically for security reasons - viruses and the like...) You can then just press "Enter" and it opens the file with its associated installed viewer application.
You can link to files by right-clicking and selecting "copy link" you can access files anonymously by setting a password and entering that somewhere else and the links are already http-links...
If you want to access files without a client: that is NOT possible and will never be possible, only if someone else pays for the generated traffic. -
Inappropriate?Good point! But it should be possible to make this a little bit more convenient. If a user has appropriately logged in, then there would be no need for sec reason to force him clicking the start buttom and then again open the file in the js-window. Opening the link should be enough. I don't see the point that this would increase the data traffic?
This idea would also make emails with such links more useful.
On computers with mounted or available W: Drive this is possible but as I stated, not always available on all computers I' m working, so I'm looking for a general solution.
I’m waiting

Inappropriate?Hi Nlck. This is a good point. I'll add a autostart feature to the next preview page version.
