Remote Upload with Wuala - Possible?
Hello! I've got a questen, hope my english isn't too bad..
Is there a possibility to upload files from a webserver into my account? Something like a remote upload with wuala? The point is, that I saved my personal data on a webserver to backup it, but now I'd like to backup them with wuala and don't want to download the whole files just to reupload..

Inappropriate?can you run apps on your remote webserver? then simply startup wuala on your webserver if its a supported platform (wuala runs on linux, macosx and win32 as of now).
or simply use a faster link than you have to get files from your webserver and upload those files on the faster broadband link. -
Inappropriate?I suppose you have a linux webserver and ftp or ssh access, without GNOME, KDE or another window system. Then it is not possible to use Wuala without downloading all your data. A remote upload mechanism is currently not planned and the command line version of Wuala does not support file uploads.
If you run a Windows Webserver, you can install Wuala as on your personal computer. -
Inappropriate?Mh, that's a pity. I haven't got root access to the webserver and it's a linux system. Still it would be a great feature if it would be possible to implement it in future versions..
Thanks for your help! -
Inappropriate?Maybe some day remote upload could work even from One-Click Hosters like Rapidshare!
Enter your Premium Account info and give Wuala the Downloadlinks (no Premium wouldn't work since you are quite limited via Captchas and Caleidos static IP...) and the Wuala server could get the files directly from there, encrypt them + upload them to your profile.
This might also work with FTP-Servers etc. like the remote-upload feature of Rapidshare, that you want to have in Wuala obviously.
I think many people would use and love a feature like that since it is rather popular in rapidshare as well. It would also make "migrating" to Wuala more easy since you perhaps already use a Web-Storage service and don't have the time, ressources or bandwidth to download all that data from there and reupload it to Wuala.

Inappropriate?Yeah, please add this feature :)
I know that there some security problem ... but you can just show a warning message, than users will make their choice.
