Secret link in browser

Good to see more employees posting here :-)

I am getting this error message as well and so are my friends I have shared this secret url with. It has worked before this, and now won't let access even if I change it to public (which I do not want to do). I am guessing maybe this is something with the webserver, but even after refreshing the page several times it won't resolve. I have even tried changing the key too. Please help.

What's the error? Have you tried to access other files to see if it works?

I am still getting it: This is the message:

This file, folder or group is private or does not exist.

I click on the link given in the Wuala program and get this message, I copy the link from the share "Link" area and get this message, I send an email to myself with a link (that is different than the one I set but doesn't change it in the program) and get this error. Why can't I access this folder or it says it doesn't exist? I even get this error when changed it to Public setting (and yes I did give it time for it be reset on the server.)
My friends don't want to have to register and download the software, that is part of why I chose this service. I know it used to work ok.

Oh yes I have tried other folders and get the same error message. It did work fine at one time, so I don't know what changed.

and yes the key is correct. It worked fine before, like I said. I even tried to change the key to see if that would fix it (and gave the server time) and it still didn't work, and then tried to make the folder public and still no access. I am totally confused by this as I said I had no problems when I first got the acct. I only heard of this problem from a friend the other day when I posted here.

Ah this was just to rule out misunderstandings or stuff like that.

Try to add a single file into the folder, this shoud trigger at least an update of the internal folder key if I understood the cryptree paper correctly. You can afterwards delete the file if you want, this is just to force Wuala to "wake the folder up". Doesn't matter which file or file type.

If the problem _still_ persists, please mail support@wuala.com with your key etc. since this is not something I can fix as an average user but something that has to be looked into from behind the scenes I fear.

Thanks, I will try it and see. Just quick question out of curiosity, would pending and files that are currently uploading affect access to the the folder?

ok, well it was just out of curiosity, the major folder and its subfolders in question, shouldn't be related to that. I was just curious. Your suggestion unfortunately didn't work, so I have had to send an email on to support. Hopefully it will get resolved soon. I did try both IE and firefox to see if it was a browser issue, but that didn't seem to matter either. Thanks for your help.
I will be sure to post back on here when we find out what the issue was for anyone else that may have this problem.

they figured it out and it is a bug in the client. It gives the wrong url and here is the email I received:

Hi Amber,

Thanks for your mail. You just found a bug in the client - the URL is wrong. You have to open "https://www.wuala.com/k9artist/Erotica?key=XXX&ff=0" (add &ff=0 instead of ?ff=0). This will be fixed with the next update. In the meantime you have to change the URL manually.

where is the update? the whole wuala service seems to be down once again. i cant log into any wuala accounts nor shows the public world tab anything at all. "service currently not available" is the only text there that i can see....

Everything works fine here - did you already upgrade to the current version? (162 on Win)

yes i have upgraded/restarted. its still laggy... sometimes it takes ages til wuala starts, sometimes its quick.

anyways, i wonder why the devs actually write their lines and "not much changed, only little loadbalancing stuff".... in here instead if simply writing those lines into a simple releasenotes document which everybody would see and be able to observe.

this is so pathetic..............

The Weblinks are working great , one thing to consider. I'm using it to link docs to google calendar entries or remember the milk task.
The thing is, that opening the default link opens the browser where you have to click again on a link before the file is finally opened.

This seems to me fuzzy, if a click on a weblink of the file the browser should open the final destination of this file e.g. the pdf directly. Then the browser shows with the pdf plugin directly the pdf.

my workaround is to save the final link instead of the offered link in the wuala app.

What do you think about changing that?
