Set limits on total upload/download amount in Wuala?
I've been using Wuala for about a week now,
and I've come across an issue which means I must
stop using it. The reason is that, although I can trade
an almost limitless amount of disk space, I must
pay for the total amount of upload/download from
my ISP provider. This is proving too expensive.
If there were some way to limit
the total monthly download or upload then I could
start using Wuala again. I realise that you can trade
less space ... but I can trade more space ... I just need
to minimise how often you guys can access it.
Personally, I use Wuala for on-line backup and hopefully
I never need to get those files again.

Inappropriate? That's the problem, for the system to operate properly you have to let people have access. By restricting traffic your messing with that.
It may be possible to work that into the uptime system. Basicly an uptime limit which would make the network use more redundancy at your expense. But I don't think such an option will be available soon. There is a low priority feature request on the list that would let you fine tune that.
My ISP has started a 100GB monthly cap with no way to extend it (It's funny how they won't take your money...). Wuala can eat through it but if i limit it to 50GB it is fine. I have also noticed, that overtime bandwidth from trading curves off. My guess is people access files a lot soon after uploading but then it becomes less over time and usage stays steady if part of a group.
I should run the numbers here when I get my new internet plan. It may be more cost effective for my to Buy 100GB for Wuala for 1 year ($160) than to up my service.
